My favorite tool is my Hultafors Talmeter (3 meters), although it is very often the cause of misreadings 😏.

@Tim Powell I used to have the same problem. What I do now is: 1.- when finished for the day, I put 10 tools (bits, tape measure, router etc) where they belong. Pencils are all over the place (I have at least 10 pencils all over the place) 2.- every tool has its own place; 3.- when a project is finished I clean my shop and put everything where it belongs. So I can start with a fresh and clean workshop a new project. Of course, I have to admit that I have a european garage/workshop, which means that it is quite small in comparison with the garages in the US. What you call over there a one car garage, it is here a three car garage 😄.

@Rich Murphy I fully agree with you. However, my space is so thight that I can only handle one project at the time. I will try to post some pictures of my workshop one of these days (when my garage is cleaned up).
Recognize that Tool?
Woodworking has changed a lot through the years. We have tools available to us today that they wouldn't even recognize 100 years ago. For that matter, a lot of them didn't exist back when I started woodworking. There are also tools that they used 100 years ago, which none of us have in our kit. I just bought this antique. It was obviously made by a blacksmith, as we can see the seam on the inside of the eye, where he wrapped the metal strap around and welded it. A reproduction might have the hammer marks on the blade, but not that seam. Also, it's got a wood wedge in the handle, rather than a metal one. Believe it or not, I actually didn't just buy this for my tool wall; but to do a couple of projects that it's the ideal tool for. So, I'll be cleaning it up a bit and sharpening it; hopefully without messing up the patina on it. In the mean time, does anyone but me know what this is called? What's it used for (real or humorous answers)? This isn't a contest, but let's have some fun with it.

End table
My wife had Surgery on her right shoulder, for any of you who have had sholder surgery, you know it's hard to sleep flat on a bed. I bought her a recliner to sleep in. Well I realized that she needed a end table. Yay me, I get to build something! Nothing fancy, but she loves it and it's a big help to her. Happy wife, happy husband. Also on a happy note: I'm a Grandpaw. His nane is Oliver. Happy Father's day everyone.
