My overall goal for that competition was to pull guard using various methods such as double tricep pull and drags. However, as certain matches continue to play out they started to reveal weaknesses within my game plan. On one hand, you had people passing with an extremely low posture with their hips far away and on the other hand there were people like Oscar who kept dropping back on my legs. So as people started to deny me opportunities to enter my outside guards (DLR/K) I started to revert back to my, more refined, inside guards (butterfly, SLX). Which is my heavily Marcelo/Gordon inspired aspect of my game, which you noticed. I think you hit the nail on the head with your overall criticism (as I interpreted it) - tunnel vision and a degree of complacency.
