THIS WEEKS CALL ON WEDNESDAY
Hey Team! Well done to all over the weekend and a special shout out to Doug Vargo completing Ironman Texas! Huge result. I'd like to open the batting for the call this week. Please drop in any questions below and we will cover off throughout the call. With a few big events starting to drop we can talk a bit through race prep for events but I would be keen to have a few more areas to explore. See you all Wednesday. Remember daylight savings is over so AEST is 6pm! See you there. Greg

I’d like to chat about recovery in general, particularly in the week or two before a race. Aside from getting 7–8 hours of sleep each night and following a nutrition plan that supports both recovery and overall daily fuelling, what other options are there? What else can be done to maximise recovery?
Making Sense of TrainingPeaks: A Simple Guide to All the Acronyms
Morning All! Hope everyone’s had a solid start to the week! 👋 With quite a few new athletes joining us over the last few weeks, I thought it would be really helpful to clear up all the confusing acronyms and abbreviations you see on TrainingPeaks (TP). You know the ones — TSS, CTL, ATL, TSB, IF, VI, FTP, rTSS… it can feel like learning a new language! Six years ago, Tim and I recorded a podcast where we break down all these metrics in simple, easy-to-understand terms and — most importantly — explain how they actually relate to your training and performance. If you’re new (or even if you’ve been around a while and still get a bit lost), I highly recommend giving it a listen. It’s one of the most practical episodes we’ve ever done. 🎧 Podcast link here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6nvJbVex9T26HPnURr0BWV I’m always happy to jump on a quick call to explain anything in more detail if something still doesn’t click — just shoot me a message and we’ll sort it out. Let me know if you found it helpful once you’ve had a listen! Enjoy the rest of your week and keep crushing it! Greg

WELCOME
Welcome to Greggo's Tri Chat! 🚀🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Hi everyone, and a huge welcome to the group! I'm Greg McDermott, your coach with Koa Sports, and I'm thrilled you've joined us here on Skool. This community is all about connecting our athletes—whether you're a beginner building your first tri, chasing age-group podiums, qualifying for Worlds, or simply loving the swim-bike-run lifestyle. It's a space to share training wins (and those tough sessions), ask questions, get feedback, discuss races, and support each other on the journey to better performance. A few quick things to get started: - INTRODUCE YOURSELF in the comments below or in the "New Members" thread—tell us your name, where you're based, your main goals for 2026, and what you're most excited (or nervous) about right now. Let's get to know each other! - Jump into discussions, post your training logs, race reports, or questions—your input drives this place! - I am piloting this as part of your coaching subscription over the next few months, so please share your feedback, ideas, and what you'd love to see here. We're building this together as a supportive tribe, and I can't wait to see the energy, breakthroughs, and friendships that come from it. You've got big goals ahead—let's smash them as a team. Drop a quick intro or wave hello below. Looking forward to chatting! Greggo Again, WELCOME to the team

Hi all. Love reading all the intros. I live in Byford about 40min south of Perth. Lovely bush land. I run a business transformation team in an RTO and I am 42. (crap that looks old once typed out) I have never competed in a triathlon to date. I have a background in mountain biking endurance events. I decided in Oct ’25 I need a solid challenge and so entered WA Ironman ’26. I will also be in Busso in May for the Busso 100. This decision also triggered the search for a coach. (Thanks Greg) My wife and brother have also entered both events so currently life is all about eating healthy, getting enough sleep and training. To be honest I LOVE it. Looking forward to meeting the team at some point in the future.
