How Will You Spend Your Last 100 Days?
On Wednesday, September 23, there will be exactly 100 days left in this year. I'm going to use them. I'm on my last day of a trip for a worship conference in Orlando. Completely unintentionally, one of the themes of the conference was "remembering". Remember where we came from, what God has done in our lives, and to let that be the fuel that drives what we do to make an impact on the lives of the people around us. I came home with two things I couldn't shake. The first is how many lives change when one person finally gets their own house in order. The second is that nobody does that alone. So here's what I'm doing. For the last 100 days of the year, I'm going to lose my next 15 pounds. I've learned over the years is that the way I teach best is by doing, so i'm getting back to that. I'm going to do it out loud, step by step, right here, every week. Through Thanksgiving. Through Christmas. Through another vacation in October. The exact stretch of the year where most people say, "I'll start fresh in January." I said that for years. I sad that when I was as heavy as 242 pounds. I've done keto, carnivore, Whole30, fasting, and every supplement with a label on it. I know exactly what it feels like to start over for the tenth time. So I'm not going to pretend I found something magic. There is no magic. There is only the work. But what I develop for people is designed to make the work simpler. Here's the whole plan, stated plainly. Minimum of 175 grams of protein a day. 12,000 steps a day, on average. Full-body strength training, four days a week. And a low dose of tirzepatide, 2.5 to 5 milligrams a week, prescribed and managed by my provider. I may add another peptide to help with visceral fat mobilization, but that is TBD. I'm telling you that last one on purpose. It quiets the food noise, which is what I need help with. It makes sticking to the work easier for me, but it's not a solution. It was never the reason it works. The protein, the steps, and the training are the reason...

@Sharon Smith if you use the chronometer app, You can take a picture to get calories and or if you make the dish, you can enter the recipe and save it and it will list your macros.
The Untracked Middle
I've had people sit across from me and swear they eat 1,400 calories a day. They're not lying. I've also had people tell me they have no idea what they eat, they just know it's too much. Also not lying. Both of those people are in Week 1 right now, doing the exact same thing. Here's what almost none of us were ever taught to count. The chips and salsa that hit the table before your food does. The handful of fries out of your kid's box in the car. The wine with dinner. Or the two beers after. The creamer. The oil in the pan. The dressing. The three squares of chocolate at 9pm. The bite off somebody's plate on your way through the kitchen. None of it registered as a decision, so none of it ever entered the math. For most people that's 300 to 500 calories a day, most days, completely invisible. That is not a discipline problem. That's an awareness problem, and awareness is teachable. It's the whole reason Week 1 is log everything and change nothing. No restriction. No new plan. You are not trying to hit your target. You're just looking. Because there are only two things you can find this week. You're eating well above your number and you didn't know it. Or you're eating far below it, and have been for years. Those are opposite situations that need opposite plans, and next week we find out which one you're in. You cannot manage a number you have never once looked at. The gap you find this week IS the work. So here's what I want in the comments. Name the one you know you don't count. Just one. No math, no confession, just name it. I'll go first. Mine was sweets, late at night, standing in the pantry. I never counted a single one of them for years.

A handful of nuts just because a handful won’t matter.
Friday wins!
It’s Friday! How did you do this week? What were some of the wins that you experienced? What have you been doing better on that you didn’t expect?

First Friday logging more daily food for higher macros. Adding in different options. Can’t wait to see what how much my stomach can hold. 🤪 so far so good.

Hitting my macros
Mid-Week Check-in
How's everyone doing this week? Are you sticking to your plan? Are you holding your standard? We need to remember one thing this week: you need to be your biggest advocate for your health. The language and thoughts you hold about yourself will be the things that makes or breaks you. If you let yourself believe that you will never change, then you will never change. Don't let that version of yourself win. You are better than that. What's one thought pattern you are working on giving up this week?
