After hundreds of sales conversations, here's the problem I decided to solve
Over the past few months, I've made 275+ cold calls to realtors trying to understand how they handle online leads and where leads get lost. One thing I've noticed is that most agents don't lose leads because they don't care; they lose them because they're busy, and sometimes they don't even realize how much they're missing out on. Showings, driving, inspections, client meetings, open houses, life. The result is that a lead comes in and gets a response 30 minutes, 2 hours, or sometimes the next day. After hearing the same problem over and over again, I decided to build something around it. I built a simple AI-powered lead response system that: • Responds instantly when a new lead comes in • Notifies the agent immediately • Automatically follows up if no action is taken • Makes sure no lead slips through the cracks Right now, I'm keeping it simple and testing it with real users before adding more features. For those of you building AI automations, agencies, or SaaS products: What's been your best strategy for getting your first few users and gathering meaningful feedback? P.S. I've started documenting the journey and sharing what I'm learning on Instagram @firsttouchautomation if anyone wants to follow along.
START HERE: Welcome to The AI Edge
Welcome to The AI Edge. You just made a great call. This is a free community for small business owners and solopreneurs getting 10+ hours a week back with AI. No coding, no fluff, just systems you can use this week. Do these 3 things right now: Step 1: Take the free AI Time Audit. It takes 10 minutes and shows you the one task eating most of your week: AI Time Audit Step 2: Download the Skool app so you never miss an AI Hack or the Thursday live call Step 3: Come back here and drop a comment below In your comment: → Your name and what your business does → Your #1 time drain (whatever the audit found, or just the task you hate most) I read every one. Every week I pick one of these comments and build the fix live on the Thursday call. Here's what happens every week: → Tuesday and Thursday: a new AI Hack, with the prompts and templates to use it the same day → Thursday at 9am ET: Live AI Time Audit. I take one member's business, find the task eating their week, and build the fix on screen (recorded if you miss it) → Friday: MVP spotlight, where one member's win gets featured in front of everyone P.S. The more you show up and share, the more you get. This community is built by doers, not lurkers. See you in the feed. — Mithuran

@Mithuran Manogaran Right now I’ve mainly been focused on inbound real estate leads, stuff like website contact forms, Facebook lead ads, home valuation funnels, and Realtor.ca inquiries. Been experimenting a lot around speed-to-lead and follow-up automation for solo agents/small teams.

@Mithuran Manogaran Yeah exactly, that’s pretty much the direction I’ve been thinking too. A lot of the opportunity seems to be in that small time window where the lead comes in, and the agent is busy/in a showing/driving/etc. I’ve noticed a lot of solo agents still rely pretty heavily on manual follow-up, even when they have a CRM in place. And yeah, definitely a mix of lease + buyer leads. I’d be down to jump on a call sometime and chat more about it.
AI Isn’t Replacing Small Businesses - It’s Fixing Operational Leaks
Lately I’ve been really interested in how AI can be used for simple real-world automation instead of just content generation. One thing I keep thinking about is how many small businesses still lose opportunities because basic follow-up systems either don’t exist or are overly complicated. Either they aren't configured correctly or are overpriced and business owners don't use it to its full potential. It seems like there’s a huge gap between powerful AI tools and practical day-to-day implementation for normal operators. Right now I’ve mostly been experimenting with workflows, automations, lead response systems, and ways AI can reduce repetitive tasks without making interactions feel robotic. Curious where things go over the next couple years because it feels like we’re still super early.

Thanks for the welcome, excited to be here. I’ve been experimenting with building small AI workflows that help streamline parts of the real estate process and cut down a lot of the repetitive admin work agents deal with day-to-day. Still early and doing a lot of testing, but it’s been interesting seeing how AI can actually plug into real business workflows instead of just being a novelty tool. Looking forward to learning from everyone here and seeing what people are building.
