Day 7 check in
I have been stretching myself with the piano. Have been practicing daily and have done some musical shares playing freestyle and leading in a song I’ve been working on (Tus Pies by Nahko). I am remembering how therapeutic it is to play the piano. I have uncovered some discomfort and found an opportunity to process some grief that was tied to piano and my divorce. It’s been really beautiful

Day one; week one Today I practiced Blueberry/Old time picking parlor by Marcel Dadi, slowing down and finding the thumb bass line BETWEEN the melody. Still in the intro section

31-Day instrumentation challenge LIVE !!!
Merry new year! Reminder: Today is DAY ONE of the instrument challenge! Have you played your instrument or sung today for 15 minutes? If so, write down your progress and prosper. If not.. There’s still time to bring music into your day šŸŽ¶ 1. Set 1-3 goals to complete over the course of the month. 2. Show up honestly every day for at least 15 mins. if you miss one, just keep going. 3. Track your progress (post here, write in the notes app, scribble in your notebook, make a video, etc.)

Day one - I did a freestyle jam on my friends piano. I can’t say it lasted for 15 minutes but hey it’s a start.
Its time to wake the music
Friends, This message is for those of us who are about to level up in the musical realms over the next few weeks. I’m genuinely excited to begin learning with you. Can you feel it already? Knocking the rust off old calluses. Rosin meeting bow. Dust lifting from keys. Breath finding melody again. This is a lighthearted 31-day challenge, and there’s only one rule: Show up for yourself each day. That’s it. Now—if you want something tangible to come from this (and I think you might), here’s the fun part: Research shows that setting clear goals and tracking your progress can increase productivity by up to 25%. That means this challenge becomes almost 8Ɨ more effective than practice alone—just by being intentional and visible. My invitation: - Set 1–3 musical goals - Commit to them for the next 31 days - Share your progress as you go It makes the process more alive. More playful. More human. We get to witness each other remembering who we are through sound. For transparency, here are my goals: - Learn three vocal ikaros by heart - Deepen and refine my classical playing style If this sparks something in you—even a quiet hum—this message is for you. Let’s begin. šŸŽ¶ —Dalton

Goals - 1)Practice and have committed to memory 3 songs to share my voice while playing, uke, keyboards or drum with (want to incorporate vocals into my soundbath experience) 2)Practice drumming while singing 3)Practice piano/keyboard in a different way - my experience with reading music has been my crutch - want to learn how to jam with the keys
