Carnegie heron / egret
I mentioned during Brad's auction yesterday the heron he had for sale was not a Carnegie. I would like to show why (aside from the fact it was unsigned). Here are 3 versions but only one is authentic (and signed). Can you pick which it is.

The left is a contemporary piece given that shiny lumpy back. The center some might say lost the cartouche. However, it's not a cartouche. The Hattie Carnegie name is embedded in the mold. When a mold is made from the original, anything sticking out is an indentation in the mold. A pirater then fills into the gap, scrapes the excess metal and then plates the piece. The gap showing in the middle is because the metal filler did not completely fill the hole. Had it been a cartouche, when it "fell off", it would have left residue and also had plating loss where it adhered to the plated metal. Since it's clean, you know it isn't what so many claim. Here's a close up with notations of differences between the middle and the rigght.

and lastly, here are two with an image from one of the Carnegie ads. Note the eye matches on the signed Carnegie but the unsigned bird has that ring around the eye. .

@Claire Dus Sault if the fleur de lis is only marked sterling, it's probably Reja. Often when they offered a large and small version of a design only one was signed.

Yes. They did a Fleur de lis brooch (LG and SM) in 1946
What do you think?
Last week I purchased some jewelry on Whatnot. These were several Eisenberg, roaches, earrings and rings. They were at extremely good prices. When I got them, I was concerned because they looked very shiny, too clean and the signatures were different from what I have experienced. I guess I had a question in my mind. Can anybody help me with this or give me an opinion?

Your last item (silvertone pendant) was advertised in 1974.
Question about customer service on the bay
I have a customer requesting a refund because they haven’t received the package yet. She’s in CA and tracking shows it made it to CA distribution center but USPS sent then sent it to TN! It’s moving again and may end up going to her eventually but should I honor the refund now?

Take a screen shot of the usps page so they can see the parcel's travels/delay.
