@Susan Hamilton I've done some writing for fintech companies, so I understand the bit about "talking and writing a lot without saying anything meaningful." Creating meaningful and useful content is difficult if the writer doesn't understand either the audience or the product or the world of finance. I've seen plenty of examples out there. I have a standing gig with a well-known accounting software company to do quality reviews of content -- really just making sure that the content written by the non-accountant freelancers they've hired is accurate. I've seen quite a few bloopers!

@Shani Raja Thank you so much!
We're Off to a Great Start! Here's What's Next...
Wow. It's been less than 24 hours, and this community is already cooking! I can see an army of writers from all walks of life united in their desire to master their craft. It's also thrilling to see a few superstars in their fields, including digital marketers, online copywriters, news journalists, PR professionals, non-fiction authors, bloggers, speechwriters, novelists, and even poets! (I'll reveal who those giants are in due course.) Whatever your background and skill level is, go ahead and make yourselves comfortable, folks. I want this to be a place where friends are made, careers are built, and influencers are born. Please also take the time to get to know each other and to help one another navigate my courses, which you'll find in the "classroom" area. Keep an eye out for some brand new content and courses that will be uploaded in the next few days! I honestly feel very lucky to have such a talented and enthusiastic group of individuals in this community. Together, let's propel each other to the summit of our potential as writers. Let's start the journey toward becoming elite writers with a question: What's your biggest writing challenge for which you'd like guidance from me and the community? 🤔 Shani

My challenge is falling too deeply in love with the words I write, especially when they're not helpful or useful to the reader. But I have a strategy that helps me overcome that. Inspired by Stephen King's admonition to "kill your darlings," I create a document for almost every client called "Client X Darlings." When I find a sentence or paragraph that really does not belong in that piece, I paste it there. It soothes me that my beautiful words are saved in case I ever need them again. Very occasionally, I use that document as a parking lot for chunks of writing that I know I'll use somewhere in the project, but just not in that chapter or that section.
The power of training
Here's a little nugget that came out of a podcast interview I did with a QuickBooks trainer: "It takes six times longer to figure something out for yourself than it does to get the right training mechanism for it." Here's to cutting our learning curves six-fold! Thank you @Shani Raja
