🌱 Welcome, Beautiful Beings of the Rooted in Regulation Journey 🌱✨
Vanakkam, dear hearts πŸ’— β€” as we step gently into our third gathering together, take a deep breath in… and feel the rooted wisdom of your body, your breath, your being. This sacred container we are co-creating is more than a class β€” it is a return. A return to nervous system literacy, embodied liberation, and ancestral reverence. In this space, we are exploring Polyvagal Theory not just through science, but through somatic storytelling.πŸŒ€ The polyvagal lens helps us understand how our nervous system navigates connection and protection β€” mapping the pathways of ventral vagal safety, sympathetic activation, and dorsal vagal withdrawal. Remember: DROP THE STORY BE WITH THE FEELING. The SAH Method (Somatic Activated Healing) builds upon this by inviting the body to speak in movement and stillness, in rhythm and pause β€” honoring every nervous system response as sacred intelligence. πŸ§˜πŸ½β€β™€οΈβœ¨ Through somatic dance, we begin to move our medicine β€” befriending the body, tending to our edges, and expanding our capacity to feel safely rooted and vibrantly alive. 🌿 Before Our Third Session, Reflect and Share in the Comments Below 🌿 1. 🌬 How does your body tell you when it feels safe? Can you recall a moment recently when you felt deeply at ease β€” where were you, who were you with, and what were you doing? 2. 🌊 What does movement feel like in your body when you’re in sympathetic energy (fight/flight) vs. dorsal energy (freeze/shutdown)? How does it change when you feel connected or supported? 3. 🌺 What ancestral practices, rhythms, or rituals help you feel regulated and rooted in your truth? 4. πŸ’ƒπŸ½ How has the SAH dance practice impacted your relationship to your body’s cues and boundaries? What insights are emerging? Comment on a couple others folks to witness and support. Can't wait to see you all next week!! As we prepare to dance, breathe, and expand together next session, remember:πŸͺ· β€œYour nervous system is not broken β€” it is brilliantly adaptive.” Allow this journey to be a gentle return home.

These reflection questions are so helpful. In pondering them, I've realized that I haven't spent much time being curious and leaning into what cues my body is giving me. It's helpful and hard to realize how disconnected from my body I am even in times of feeling safe. The sessions so far and the SAH dance practice have helped me practice being with my body and listening to the cues. Feeling the energetic impact of giving my body what it asks for without judgement/ thinking has been incredible. These practices are helping me build trust with myself. I'm looking forward to today's session πŸ’žπŸ•Ί
