Treat this book business like a business
If you've ever heard this phrase and wondered what it means, here are my thoughts: 1. Set up a business entity or at least get a separate bank account for your book earns. 2. Track your income and expenses. Re-invest profits into your business. (people like the book Profit First for a strategy, but I only apply the advice that works for me) 3. Write for you, edit for the reader, package the book for the market. 4. Stasia teaches the 5 levers of marketing - 1. Book cover 2. Book blurb 3. Ad copy (the hooks) 4. Ad creative (the video or image) 5. Audience. Pull these levers (change out covers, copy, blurbs) until you find profit. Those are my high level thoughts, BUT I'm asking Golden Angel to come share her Money Matters for Authors talk about Money Mistakes authors make during the Bootcamp. She's also going to do a Launch Budget presentation, so if you have any specific questions, post them here!
