Seeking cover change opinions
Hi everyone! I was going to post this in the Mastermind FB group, but I really appreciate the smaller group here and the sense of community. I hope it's okay if I seek input! For anyone who has changed their covers (this would be my first time), did you do an ad test to choose a new one? And was there any trouble if the cover at retailers was still the old version while you ran the test? I hope that makes sense... There's been a swing in cover design format in my main subgenre, and I want to go with the flow, but I don't know if I should just dive right in with a new cover that I choose, or do a test between a couple of new options, or... well, you get the picture. 😅 This is my first rodeo, so any input and opinions are so very welcome and appreciated!! 🙌

Don't have advice but I'm following this discussion for when I update my covers! Good Luck!
Treat this book business like a business
If you've ever heard this phrase and wondered what it means, here are my thoughts: 1. Set up a business entity or at least get a separate bank account for your book earns. 2. Track your income and expenses. Re-invest profits into your business. (people like the book Profit First for a strategy, but I only apply the advice that works for me) 3. Write for you, edit for the reader, package the book for the market. 4. Stasia teaches the 5 levers of marketing - 1. Book cover 2. Book blurb 3. Ad copy (the hooks) 4. Ad creative (the video or image) 5. Audience. Pull these levers (change out covers, copy, blurbs) until you find profit. Those are my high level thoughts, BUT I'm asking Golden Angel to come share her Money Matters for Authors talk about Money Mistakes authors make during the Bootcamp. She's also going to do a Launch Budget presentation, so if you have any specific questions, post them here!

My business structure has been set up for years, though I did just get an LLC that I'm pulling my writing and digital media company under. But I'm also starting a new series and the Write for yourself, Edit for the reader, Package for the market I may get tattooed on my wrist!

This is so helpful! I'm using it to develop Kickstarter Pre-Launch ads!
Catalogue Troubleshooting with Tara Crescent
My author friend Tara is #1 Restorative and high Strategic...and an amazing resource to help me get my head straight about market strategy. She's offered to do a group coaching call for us where she analyzes people's catalogues to make sure they're positioned correctly for the market, plus answer their questions. If you want to volunteer as tribute: Post your pen name and specific questions here!

@Tara Crescent Thanks so much for doing this! LC Giroux, I write in too many genres of romance! In my head, they are all connected. LOL! Yes, even my Regency and Shifters. Not that I can imagine Readers seeing it. Do I have to stay in a lane? I've got a quiz on my home page that lets readers pick their genre, and then I send a free first in series. There just isn't a lot of traffic to my site.
