Youâll get a DM on LinkedIn from a legit connection saying, âI have a friend who would be a good connection for you. They are this and that, yada, yada, yada. Can I get your phone number so they can give you a call?â Fell for it the first time, responded to their text with my calendar link for a 25-minute Zoom chat, and they wrote back, âI cannot get to know you over Zoom and in just 25 minutes. No Zoom probably because they claim to be a woman and are undoubtedly a âYahoo Boyâ (Google it), and donât want me to see their face. I replied, âTime is money, 25 minutes is all youâre going to get.â They replied, âYou canât talk to me like that âMr. Frankâ (mister and my first name always a dead giveaway that screams third world).â I said, âYouâre right, blocked and reported.â I reached out to my legit connection, DMâd her a screenshot of ââŚcan they have your phone numberâŚâ message, and suggested she change her password. She replied, âThanks, I will, didnât send you that DM.â
