Something I notice time and time again with people who choose to take care of animals is this: - They care so deeply about getting it right they often also think they are getting it wrong - They are confused by 'professionals' telling them different things - They have been told to do things by 'progessionals' that didn't feel right in their gut, but they did them anyway and then felt guilty I know because I have been there. I have done harsh lead corrections with my dog because a trainer told me to. I have whipped a horse hard because an instructor told me to. But it never felt right. I didn't enjoy doing it and I ALWAYS felt bad. The problem with the internet is there is SO MUCH information it's hard to know what to believe. A popular trainer may not be posting information that will help you bond with your animal or improve their welfare. They also might not be qualified. They are just good at social media 😅 Within this group (and online) I want you to question everything. Using logic, yes. Using evidence, yes. But also using your gut instinct. If your gut says it's wrong, it probably is. You're here because you care deeply, that can't be taught. And neither can intuition, so believe in yours.
