It’s a lovely pattern though, for me, it isn’t wide enough. Being on the larger end of the sizing scale, the width would need to be half as much again. It’s an odd size as it wouldn’t even fit a single bed widthways so while I like the pattern, it isn’t one I’ll be crocheting.

It doesn’t bother me because I usually do my row by row mosaic using the Tunisian method and, as yet, I haven’t seen - or found - any way to tidy those pockets away. It adds to the texture. I have also tried anchoring the trebles (dc) but don’t like the effect on the front if you only anchor a few. Anchoring all takes longer and more yarn, and seems to make the stitches bulkier which I don’t really like the look of. The negative stitch is something I’m just venturing into and quite liking, though I was daft enough to start that venture on an in-the-round pattern. Steep learning curve but getting the hang of it now 😁
Which Would You Choose?
Same design. Two completely different moods. A = Dramatic contrast of colour B = Soft & subtle Which would you crochet? And why?

I’d go for the multicoloured version as it adds more depth to the design. However, I haven’t yet been brave enough to work a multicoloured pattern. Normally I would use a variegated yarn but I don’t think this particular pattern would work with those. And I’d be inclined to pick cool colours - blues, greens and purples because they reflect the cold more than those autumnal colours.
👋 Hello & welcome!
I’m so glad you’re here. This community is still very much in its early days, which means you’re part of the founding group shaping what this space becomes. This is a relaxed, supportive place for crocheters to talk patterns, charts, ideas, problems, wins… all of it. To break the ice, I’d love to know: What are you currently working on – or hoping to work on next? (Finished, half-finished, still just an idea totally counts!) I’ll be popping in regularly with tips, behind-the-scenes bits, and questions too. Make yourself at home 🧶✨
