[27 Feb, 3pm GMT] - Research Signature Story training
We're running the community training this week, focusing on how to explain your research expertise to academic and non-academic audiences - check out the calendar for details. A small change this week: we'll be running the training on Google Meet as a trial. Link in the calendar, but will also send it before the training as a reminder. What we're going to talk about is a short, repeatable way to explain: - what you work on - why it matters - and how it creates value beyond your niche There’s a simple structure behind it (with a few key decisions), but most researchers are never taught it. I'm going to do it next Friday. I'll help you: - understand the core pieces of a strong researcher's story - see concrete examples (including mine) - start drafting your own in multiple lengths If you have any questions about this already, leave comments below.

Hello Prof Hanak, this looks like a super interesting training and I'd love to join. Just wanted to confirm if the timing will be [27 Feb, 3pm GMT] because that doesn't seem to match with the calendar event, which is set to [26 Feb, 10pm EST]. Thank you for confirming!

If you've joined the community recently, please do introduce yourself in the community feed. I'd love to hear what you expect of this community and what your research is about. The more you contribute, the more you get out, so share, network, and collaborate. ///PWW Update/// It's been great ot host so many of you last Friday. From what I noticed (no detailed stats yet on Skool), we had 45 people - very good discussion! To remind you of what we talked about, we prepared a summary infographic - hope you find it useful [full disclosure, we used Gemini and NotebookLM to summarise the concepts] Many of you asked about the recording. Full disclaimer here - PWW is part of my paid programme, but as I promised, it was free live in the community. Therefore, the recording will only be available for 48 hrs after posting. I appreciate that you may have missed the training because I was in a different time zone or you already had other commitments. I'm still reviewing the recording and plan to release it later this week. Hope this helps, but feel free to contact me directly.

Thank you so much Prof Hanak for this invaluable workshop. I echo Basma's comment that your workshop stands out from all the other workshops on academic writing I have attended. I've already started implementing the frameworks you shared while working on my paper based on my thesis. Really glad & grateful that I found this community.

@Dawid Hanak there were many things, but the one key thing I took away from the workshop was the need to articulate the novelty of the research (your novelty vs originality matrix is super helpful!) and cut away anything from the paper that doesn't support the novelty statement. I look forward to reviewing the workshop recording once that becomes available - Thank you again!!
