More than I can chew?
So I am hoping to complete all the finishing on my Rujuu before the fashion show, but my indecision has taken hold. I purchased a length of trim to sew over the steek selvedges, then decided that maybe I could just make it on my Inkle loom instead. However, the band pattern I chose is… a challenge. At least for my current skill set. And it is taking me forever haha I wonder if I should just sew on the store-bought band and finish my woven band later? Also… which buttons?!?!

@Betsy Moll Thanks Betsy! I think I agree with the buttons. Those little carved wood ones make me smile, and the navy ones just don’t match the way I’d hoped. As far as the trim… you’re probably right, I’m only going to hand sew a band on this sweater once (realistically). It’s not like swapping out a button. Okay, I’ll consider the fashion show as motivation, but not a hard deadline. I appreciate your thoughts, think I just needed a reality check lol
Clue 6 Complete
Well I sure fell behind, but I can see the finish line now. I cannot wait to curl up in this cozy cardi. I’ve been practicing steeks on my gauge swatches while my Rujuu dries from blocking. Bring it on!!

@Zanete Hussain Yes! What a gorgeous pattern, and I absolute loooove how the swatch turned out. Rujuu is my first all-over colourwork sweater, and I love it so much that it amped up my confidence to finally try Ghali. I’m using some lovely Fibre Co. “Cumbria” 😉
Clue 5 “Complete”
That’s a bit of a fib… I still need to bind off, but I really wanted to get the sleeves started before I decide whether or not to add a few more rounds to the hem. I veered from the pattern. Since my row gauge was off and I knew I wanted more than 2” of ribbing, it wasn’t far from done after chart 5, and I didn’t want to end up with half a repeat of chart 4, so I improvised. I think I like though! No time to try it on for pics this week, but it’s hitting me just above the hip (where I want it) right now 👍 I’d love to try and block the body this week, but we’ll have to see how much knitting there is to do!
