Clue 3 question
I'm doing size 4. I think I messed up lol. In re-reading the instructions I think I should do to line 14 in the chart and then start doing separating for sleeves.... finishing up the rest of the chart up to line 18 following the written instructions? I went straight to 18.i think I need to take out 4 rows then start separating... if I'm correct?

Well since it is for someone else, trying on doesn’t help unless it’s not a surprise gift and you can check the fit on them… so I would guess to go by measurement for what the front yoke length should be for size 4 ( note in block on clue 3 instructions, just above the color chart) I believe should be at 8 1/2”/20 cm for that size. I had to knit past row 13, as was short and follow split instructions once I had the length. You may not need to rip out as much as you think…
