New Video - Why Most People Feel Broke on Good Salaries
Most people think earning more money automatically solves money problems. In reality, I've met high earners who are constantly stressed about money, and lower earners who are financially comfortable. The difference usually isn't income... it's habits. Watch the video and let me know: What's the biggest waste of money people spend on without realising it?

Buying a new car is a complete waste of money in my opinion…loses value as soon as you drive it off the forecourt. I have a fairly decent, second-hand car. Just as good to drive without the huge expense.
Guidance
Huge thanks Ollie for the helpful informal guidance about my pension. The Teacher's Pension is a minefield and you provided some clarity for me.

New Month = Fresh Start
As we head into a new month, this is a great opportunity to pause and review where your money actually went last month. For anyone who wants to get involved, let’s go through your numbers using the Monthly Money Planner (attached below), along with the explainer video. One of the most important parts is understanding your percentages: • Essentials • Lifestyle • Saving Once you’ve worked through your planner, feel free to share: ✅ Any observations or surprises ✅ Your percentages ✅ What went well last month ✅ Any targets or goals for this coming month Remember — this isn’t about perfection or judgement. It’s about awareness, small improvements, and building better habits over time. Looking forward to hearing how everyone got on. I've just populated the planner with the pension income I will have from September and my current regular expenses + some for treats. This was so helpful but I had a shock! I am easily able to continue my current lifestyle, despite losing my salary. I must be wasting lots of £££ so now I'm going to investigate where I'm spending!
Pension vs Lifetime ISA – Which Made More Sense?
I recently spoke with someone who was self-employed, had never opened a pension before, and wanted to start planning properly for the future. Interestingly, after talking things through, we decided a Lifetime ISA (LISA) actually suited their situation better than a pension right now. In this video, I explain: • what a LISA is • who it’s for • the government bonus available • and why it worked well in this particular case

My youngest son is just about to venture into the self-employed world and knows how important it is to plan ahead (he's heard us talking about our pensions and what we will have to live on). It would be interesting to see if this is the best option for him.
Money Mondays
Right then — new week, fresh start. One of the biggest things that helps people improve their finances is simply having a target to work towards and staying accountable. So each Monday, I want everyone to post one financial goal or action they want to complete this week. It could be something small like: • reviewing your spending • sorting your budget • transferring money into savings • watching one of the modules • finding an old pension • paying extra off debt • finally asking that question you’ve been putting off It honestly doesn’t matter how big or small it is. The goal here is progress and building momentum over time. Then once you’ve completed it, let the group know. This community works best when people get involved, support each other, and realise they’re not trying to figure everything out alone. So… what’s your financial goal for this week?

I need to review my monthly outgoings as I retire soon. Want to prioritise my spending now so it’s not a shock when my salary stops.

@Oliver Godwin yesterday, I reviewed my sky subscription and have reduced the monthly payment significantly by cancelling the things we never use :) It feels so good.
