Money Mondays - Goal For This Week
Hi all, What are your financial goals for this week? Doesn't matter how small or large the task, let us know what you've got planned. For me, I've been spending more than usual at the pub with the World Cup in full swing - therefore I will not be spending any money on coffees / lunch / unnecessary spending, until England get knocked out (Hopefully not this Wednesday!).

@Pete Shaw this is a great task to complete. I'll be interested to hear how you get on and what conclusions you draw. If you go to the Foundations Course in the Classroom tab, you will find a resource link called Monthly Money Planner - feel free to utilise this.
How Much Money Is Enough?
How much money do you really need? It's a question most people never stop to ask themselves. We spend years chasing bigger salaries, bigger houses and bigger lifestyles, but what if the finish line keeps moving? In this video, I share some thoughts from my experience as a financial adviser and why defining what "enough" looks like for you could be one of the most important financial decisions you ever make.

What Good Looks Like - Financially
Most people don't need to be millionaires to feel financially secure. In this video, I walk through what a healthy financial setup looks like: emergency savings, protection, pensions, investing, workplace benefits, and paying down debt. This isn't about being perfect. Very few people have everything in place. It's simply a guide to what you can work towards over time. Financial confidence comes from progress, not perfection. Don't compare yourself to someone else's chapter 20 when you're on chapter 3. Just keep moving forward.

New Video - Why Most People Feel Broke on Good Salaries
Most people think earning more money automatically solves money problems. In reality, I've met high earners who are constantly stressed about money, and lower earners who are financially comfortable. The difference usually isn't income... it's habits. Watch the video and let me know: What's the biggest waste of money people spend on without realising it?

I tend to agree. Cars are one of those purchases that can easily become emotional rather than financial. For many people, a car is tied to status, success, or rewarding themselves after working hard. There's nothing wrong with that if you can genuinely afford it. The problem is when we stretch ourselves financially to drive something that impresses other people while quietly stressing about the monthly payments. A reliable second-hand car can often do exactly the same job for a fraction of the cost. The money saved can then go towards things that build long-term financial security instead.
Starting your first job?
Nobody teaches you what happens after you get your first payslip. Tax, pensions, student loans, credit cards, budgeting, saving... it can feel overwhelming if you've never been shown how it all works. I've put together a short video covering the key money lessons I wish someone had taught me when I first entered the workplace. What's one thing you wish you'd known when you started earning money? Let's help the next generation avoid some expensive mistakes.

@Pete Shaw Good point. Taking the time to understand your employee benefits is one of the smartest things you can do when starting a new job. Employers often spend thousands of pounds per employee on benefits, but many people never use them. I'd also pay close attention to things like pension matching, life insurance, income protection, employee assistance programmes and share schemes if they're available. Pension matching in particular can be incredibly valuable – it's effectively free money from your employer, and contributions made in your 20s can have a huge impact on your future wealth thanks to the power of compounding. A couple of hours spent understanding your benefits package could be worth far more than most people realise.
