Good morning! I sent you a message on Skool regarding the shuttle run as I can hit level 7 but may not be able to attend the full duration, thank you!
📢SHUTTLE RUN - WHO IS RUNNING THIS SAT?!
Good day folks! Super excited for tonight's Online Information Session! 🎉 For those that think they can hit level 7 in the Shuttle run, we are running a shuttle run this Saturday! Please let me know by completing this survey below. Timings will be provided for the shuttle run in a separate individual email. Please complete survey below and send me a personal DM @Sgt. Jennifer Richardson Recruiting- Ottawa Police Service with your email address. 👉 You do not need your PREP certificate to apply! You need level 7 of the shuttle run, so pass this Saturday and you can apply on the spot! (We are currently accepting the shuttle run with successful completion of level 7 as the current fitness requirement in our application process, that said, you will still need to pass the full PREP test at the Ontario Police College to graduate from the College. This current fitness requirement is a pilot, studies have shown that if you are able to pass level 7 in the shuttle run, you should be physically able to pass the circuit portion of the PREP Test. So the short answer is get your level 7 shuttle run completed by a properly trained facilitator, you can apply to OPS but with the mindset that you should be training to be successful in the PREP Test.)

Was a really informative session and nice to see different perspectives on policing and the journey to get there, and how everyone’s path to get there can be different. I also liked the insight into the interview process and how training and OPC would look like once through the interviews!

Hi everyone! My name is Leah, I am 23 years old, and born and raised in Ottawa! I graduated from Western University in June 2024 with an Honours Double Major in Criminology and Sociology with a Minor in Psychology. I am currently working a full-time job providing fingerprint background checks and police records checks to the general public. I am also working part-time as a front desk associate at a fitness/yoga studio in Riverside South. Whenever I am not working, I volunteer with Meals on Wheels Ottawa where I deliver nutritious meals to a diverse vulnerable population. I also go to the gym and partake in recreational sports, such as hockey. As someone with many family friends involved in policing, whether in Ottawa or outside, these people in my life have inspired and encouraged me to take these next steps in my policing journey. I am hoping to apply at OPS within the next little bit, and begin giving back to the community I have grown up in as a police officer. Looking forward to learning from everyone and wishing everyone the best of luck in their journey, we got this!
