I know because I used to send that message like it was my job. Somebody would hit me up, we'd have a great conversation, they'd say something like "this sounds amazing" and then just... vanish. So I'd wait three days. Maybe four. Trying not to look desperate. 💅🏼 And then I'd send it... "Hey! Just circling back on this." Which is basically the professional version of "please love me." They never responded. 👻 Obviously. And I'd sit there thinking something was wrong with my offer. Or my price. Or the market. Or Mercury was in retrograde. Whatever story I needed to tell myself so I didn't have to admit the real problem. I didn't know what to say. Like the actual words.
