Stress Testing AEVUM: Free Download, Need Your Help
Hey everyone, I've been building a desktop app called AEVUM. It's a time tracker built specifically for music producers. It runs in the background, detects your DAW automatically, and tracks how long you spend on each project. No manual timers, no clicking start/stop. Right now I'm looking for people to stress test it. The app is completely free to download and use. ⚠️ Fair warning: you will probably run into bugs. ⚠️ This is still early and that's exactly why I need real people using it. The more eyes on it, the faster I can fix things. If you find something weird, broken, or just off, I'd really appreciate it if you let me know. Drop a comment here or shoot me a DM. Download: https://aevum-time-tracker.netlify.app/ Enter an email to activate the free version. Thanks for helping me make this thing solid. Cheerio, Alex

If you ever need mac testers I'm 100 percent into this. Awesome app idea :)
Pitch bending strings?
Does anyone have any insights on how guys like this pitch bend strings? I've tried AUNewPitch in Logic but it gives it a really fake sounding pitch bend.. When I use the pitch bend midi automation I can only pitch bend like a half step? Curious how this is done 'professionally'. Cheers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVV37TpJ2a0&list=RDvVV37TpJ2a0&start_radio=1

Thanks for the responses everyone, sounds like I need a library that supports pitch bending natively. I've been doing a bit of research and I already have spitfire solo strings so I'm going to try layering a few patches. I also found out that my hollywood strings library supports pitch bend so I was able to do some fun stuff with that.
What Strings do you use for Trailer Music?
So I’ve collected a bunch of string libraries since I started in this genre about 2.5 years ago, but as you all know, the grass is always greener on the other side 🫠 I have Nucleus, Jaeger, CSS, and Pacific Ensemble, but I still have the feeling I’m missing something. Personally, I’m looking at AERIA for the extra articulations, but it feels a bit wasted since most of the content overlaps with Nucleus and Jaeger. I’d appreciate hearing some trailer cues from you guys, along with information on which libraries were used, to see everything in context 😊

I only have a small amount of experience, I have been using Albion ONE, Appassionata, and Colossus (as well as Spitfire Solo strings, 8Dio solo strings suite, and nashville strings) for a little while now and while they take forever to load I think the quality is really nice. I haven't used CSS yet unfortunately (I hear it has less room control?). Happy to answer any questions you might have on these libraries or send samples, cheers!
Panning tuts?
Does anyone have any good tutorials for panning with orchestral elements? I cant find anything for trailer music for some reason..

@Serhii Serheikin Thanks for the info, I was basically using lower (middle) to upper (panned). Sounds like I've been panning too hard according to chatGPT lol

@Peter Sauleda This is what I've been doing lately and then cross checking the responses with google searches because chatGPT can and WILL get things wrong
Using high quality reference audio for mixing?
Hey everyone, quick reference question: What track do you use as a general reference audio file? ChatGPT is saying something like Audiomachine's 'Guardians at the Gate' is a good overall reference for various reasons. I was just looking for something that works for MOST mixes to include in my template to occassionally make sure im not WAY off on my mixes. Also was told I should NOT rip audio off youtube as it has issues and is not a good reflection of the original sound. Thoughts on what to use, and where to get a good quality file (wav?)?
