I had a call with a Monk Manual coach earlier this week and found it super helpful. She answered a couple of specific questions that I'd been wondering about. Reflecting on my own emergent practice in detail with someone else who understands Monk Manual well helped me realise what's working for me and ironed out a couple of minor wrinkles.
I had intended to post something about "The Path" Monday (but did this instead)
I've been off the grid this week camping with my kids. Here's a picture of my daughter after she caught her first fish yesterday (a sunfish). I had intended to post something about The Path (beta) 6-week program I'm going to run, but to do so would have taken me away from some really important things that were happening. So here I am posting now. I'm not going to do much to "sell" this program to you. To do so I'd have to likely appeal to something lower in you - either something your ego wants, or your ego fears. Instead I will just say this. 1. This 6-week program is going to be an important part of participants' lives. It's a bit hard for me to build messaging around because it's built around wisdom and applies to one's entire life. It's like upgrading your life operating system through the guise of time. If you ask the question "what is money for" or "what is time for" and you're honest enough with it - you'll likely come to what this program is about. 2. When you’re offering something genuinely new, it rarely fits into old categories. That can make it hard to explain — or even trust — up front. That’s why I’m offering a full money-back guarantee. It’s my way of holding the tension for both of us, so you can say yes without fear. Just let me (the team) know by week 4. 3. I created a video that walks through the details https://www.loom.com/share/92d32103761c44aa813718adfde4e804 4. You can sign up here https://buy.stripe.com/14A28q8561oM4F7aE9d3i05. The first session is June 24th. Last day to sign up is Tuesday the 17th. If you did "Find Your Inner Monk" you get a substantial discount (check your email). 5. I know some of you have already signed up. Excited to journey with you. I'm dreaming about this (not a figure of speech, I'm actually having dreams about this). I'm going to share a few more personal details on my why as a comment under this when I have a chance.

@Steven Lawson Sure. I've literally lost track of the number of online, self-paced courses that I've registered (and paid) for and not completed because I "didn't have time". These are courses that I was genuinely excited about and knew would be helpful, often with instructors whose work I'm passionate about. But there's something about the online, do-when-suits-you, self-paced model that - for me - ultimately means that completing the course falls way down (and eventually off) the to do list.

@Steven Lawson Thanks, Steven. I've tried "ticking" myself in various ways before, including by having an "accountability buddy", with mixed results. It depends, of course, on the course, what else is going on, ... so many variables. I just through it was a little bit ironic as I was thinking about your course to realise that for me I'd likely fail to complete a program about realigning my relationship with time because of my relationship with time ;-)
June…
What is everyone focusing on this month in their monk manual or otherwise?

@Lizzie Sudlow Of course! I have a starter website where you can sign up for updates :-)

@Lizzie Sudlow Hi Lizzie. Thank you for your kind words about the website. I feel like I'm doing all of this - website included - before I'm quite ready, but I'm trying to brace the authenticity that comes with it. Jacob wool is lovely. I would love to stock spinning wool if people want it. I learned to spin on a wheel first and haven't had much luck with drop spindles (though I really envy their portability). Where are you located? I might be able to help you find a spinning teacher/class if you like. :-D

2025 is turning out to be a year of unanticipated transitions. I'm trying to weave more intentionality into the fabric of new projects.
