@Halie Asmus I was thinking of a prophetic prayer study. How do you know when prayer is prophetic (given or receving). How can you grow in it? What do we know of it throughout scripture and how do we apply that to our lives today.

I believe the Lord is opening a door for me to step into leading people to hear Gods voice at my church at an upcoming prayer and worship night. My church has not gathered in prayer all together for quite some time if ever (we’re fairly new here) so I am expectant of the Spirit to open ears :) with the being said, I’m having trouble doing the work of gathering the team and making ideas flow to create the plan … these are all areas of strength for me, but I’m experiencing a lack of motivation to take these initial steps. Pray against any influence hindering me or distracting me, and pray that I would take the step of faith to do the work no matter how I’m feeling in the moment.

@Halie Asmus whoa, later today, God gave me direction for this night by reminding me of a picture from a month back that he shared for the people at my church. It’s absolutely supposed to be for the prayer night, he also gave a specific passage for this night to be read over everyone who’s there :) grateful and feeling ready to pursue and receive again
Bible Study
Welcome everyone, I’m excited to announce this Saturday at 3:00PM CST I will be hosting an online Bible study. Starting in the book of Proverbs, we will be discussing the book as a whole, context, general principles, and personal application that has and can be made. This group is open to all members. Whether you’re agnostic and exploring your faith, new to your faith, or been walking with the lord for everyone this is truly a come as you are study. I’ll be making a separate post in regards to my testimony and background. I hope to see you all there! And growing in this together. ✝️🙌

Hi and hello @Damian Barr I’m so glad you’re creating this space for people to grow and commune over scripture. I do not have the space for this study at this point in my life but I hope the kick off is enriching and unified with the Spirit for all who are there!
Christian books?
Aside from the Bible, what's books have you read that have impacted your faith walk positively? I have many favorites, but Radical by David Platt is one that has stuck with me for years!

OOOO SO MANY! With by Ski Jethani, The Gift of Being Yourself by David Banner, The Other Half of Church by Jim WIlder, The Soul of Desire by Dr. Curt Thompson, and a variety of fiction works that have incredible, riveting, thrilling storylines with redemptive themes. One series I'm thinking of is the Wingfeather Saga, and less recently, Flannery O'Connor's short stories. Can I expand the question and ask what kind of multimedia (movies, shows, theater and stage) have you found moving your soul towards Jesus? Was it the story arch or the performance?

Testimony Tuesday
Let's here about the work of God in your life this past week! I’ll start! Yesterday, my ball join completely snapped while transporting five children. However it snapped as I turned into a parking lot, directly after getting off the interstate! So grateful for the lord’s protection! Thank you Jesus!

The Lord brought something full circle last night. See, 3 years ago, my husband and I knew that God was asking us to ‘be exposed’ to His church… get out of our normal/comfortable experience. Well, we’ve been doing that through being at 3 different churches that God brought us to in the last 3 years (the last one being where we are now!). Last night, we got to share our present/day, gritty faith story we’re in with a family over dinner. Their response: crickets. There was no dialogue after we shared about what we shared… and there’s some pretty amazing moments of God revealing himself directly! It didn’t sit right with me. And later, just in verbal processing, I told my Husband that the experience left me feeling exposed. It didn’t hit me until just this morning that God’s bringing us into a new experience of what it means to ‘be exposed,’ and that is that as we share our story, as vulnerably as we can muster, and spread the seed of Jesus throughout it, some people will have no response ( maybe their afraid, offended, skeptical) and it’s okay to feel exposed in that moment. 😊

I tell stories of faith, and help people pursue the Healer by guiding formational practices in a vulnerable, story-led community.
