Sounds bad, doesn't it? It doesn't have to be though. By wine rut, I mean falling into a pattern of buying and drinking a narrow range of varietals and/or producers. It happens from time to time, and I noticed I am in one right now. Currently very Pinot Noir oriented. I've always loved the varietal (think Miles' soliloquy in Sideways), but find it just seems to check all the right boxes for me now in terms of what I'm eating, the weather, etc. I'm a little broader on the whites, but not by much! Anybody else a "victim" of wine rut? If so, what do you do to break out? We all need to challenge ourselves to keep experimenting and learning. Sometimes easier said than done! š·
