Tea-Time Question
Hello everyone! I thought it was time for a little bit of fun. 😊 Our GourmetQuilter Studio Corner family is growing so nicely (welcome to all our new members!), so here's a question that I think every quilter can answer... Cast your vote, then tell us a little more in the comments. I'd love to hear your quilting story... and don't worry, this is a judgement-free zone. I suspect quite a few of us may have more than one project on the go! Happy stitching, SusanClaire 🧵 ...because quilting is delicious! Which one sounds most like you?

I feel I need to tick all of the boxes, but at this stage in my life I am definitely in an era of thinking more than doing! I am currently cleaning out my sewing room (literally having a scrolling break sitting on the floor surrounded by fabric and UFO’s) and contemplating whether I’ll even get some of these projects finished at all!
Be honest... what's the oldest piece of fabric in your stash?
I do actually have a couple of pieces of antique fabric, but I also have lots of older fabrics that I have been reluctant to use as I wouldn't have them any more! Do you older fabrics, we would love to hear about them.

Ooo I don’t have any fabrics terribly old - however one day I will inherit the rest of mums stash - I am guilty of having fabrics that I think are too nice to do anything with 😅
Heading to Chicago soon
I am getting ready to head to Chicago at the end of April, I will be attending the H&H wholesale show and also the Fiber & Fabric Festival - will any of you be there at all?

@SusanClaire Mayfield that's one heck of a long day the 28th April 😅
Quilting Retreats
Hi everyone, I love attending quilting retreats - do you? I have attended many retreats over the years, both local in NZ and also some overseas. Many years ago I was able to attend a retreat in London, UK. More recently I have attended several in USA. I have friends who run quilting retreats in NZ, these, of course, need to be supported! Do you love to attend retreats? tell us more, we would love to hear where you go, what you do at retreat and anything else you would like to share about retreats.

Even though I started my quilting journey with you SusanClaire as a teenager, I am still yet to attend a retreat! One of these days I will get myself to one. Sounds like exactly what I need amongst the busyness of raising my small humans, working and keeping the household operating smoothly!
Graduation Quilt
I just wanted to share a quilt I made for my granddaughter's high school graduation quilt. She sent me a sketch of what she wanted last August. It took me a bit to figure out how to get the center part figured out. I used EQ8 to create the spiral border. I found pictures of the two mountains that are in the Flathead valley in NW Montana. They are Columbia on the right and Teakettle on the left. They are the gateway to Glacier National Park. We lived right below Tea Kettle for 32 years before we retired and moved to Oklahoma. She had been to the ocean the year before and specifically wanted to have it in the quilt. That was a challenge to be sure! From sketch to finish, it took me a little over 9 months to make this quilt. Here is the sketch and the finished quilt with my granddaughter standing next to it. She loved it which made me very happy!
