Monday mindset!
Hey guys! Happy Monday! Another fresh week, and another fresh reason to show up. Everyone has a why. It could be your kids. Your health. The fire that comes from competing. Or simply proving to yourself that you can do hard things. Mine is this: It’s part of who I am. Not just a job or a sport, but where I feel alive, grounded, and in control. I train for performance; I love seeing just what my body and mind are capable are. I train for mental clarity, for the challenge. I want to know what yours. Why do you train? Drop your answer below (judgement free zone here) and remind yourself what keeps you moving forward when motivation might not seem so present.
Meeting Warren & The Birth of HEC: Clarity, alignment, and finally saying yes. Part 3.
By the end of 2024, everything felt aligned. I knew what I wanted, and I believed I could create it. And then, as if the universe had been listening, Warren walked into the gym. Without going into too much detail here (that’s a whole other story worth its own post), the more we got to know each other, the more we realised how much we had in common. The same drive. The same passion for building something meaningful. The same vision of creating an online business that went beyond training plans. It was almost too easy to decide to do it together. With Warren already running his own business, he could help with the systems, the backend, the structure. I could focus on the coaching, the athletes, the programming. And that’s when the final piece clicked. That’s when Hybrid Endurance Coach was born. Why This Community Exists! This community exists because: We believe everyday athletes deserve support, structure, and confidence. I know what it feels like to want more. More energy, more challenge, more purpose and we want to give people a space where training isn’t just numbers in an app, but a community they belong to. So Here’s what you’ll gain here: Education: weekly blogs, training insights, and tips you can apply straight away. Accountability: a space to share wins, struggles, and keep showing up. Connection: like minded athletes who get what it means to juggle work, life, and training. Inspiration: real stories, real progress, and proof that it’s never too late. This is just the beginning. I’m excited to build this space with you. Drop a comment below: Where are you training from, and what’s one goal you’re chasing right now?

Finding Home in RAK: Building communities, stepping up, settling: Part 2 of 3.
From there, I landed in RAK, UAE. And oh, what a place. I spent five years there! The most settled I’d ever been. I became Head Coach, built relationships that still mean the world to me, and created a community that I’m proud to say was a damn good one. But after three years, I felt that pull again. That whisper: it’s time for change. The Idea Takes Shape! And yes at first, it was just an idea. I didn’t even have a name for it. I looked at other gyms, other opportunities, and even when they said, “Yes, we want you,” it didn’t feel right. I stayed in RAK another two years, still talking about doing my own thing, but not actually doing it. Deep down, I knew I wasn’t ready. Thailand knocked four times during those years. Each time, I wanted to say yes. But then life, or fear got in the way. Covid. A gut feeling. Not enough time. The excuses of someone scared of the unknown. Until one day, Thailand knocked again. And this time I was certain. In 2024, I’m now coaching at one of the coolest spaces ever, and definitely the best space in Phuket! (If you ever visit Phuket, go check out The Cult Fitness Society). I’m feeling like I'm finding my voice even more, and the way I just fitted in was such a great feeling. Now the ideas started flooding through. I’m enjoying my time here but these whiteboards of mine were becoming more and more covered in scribbles, with post it notes stuck to my bathroom mirror, and pages filled with ideas: a landing page, a run club, a way to bring hybrid training online. The clarity was undeniable really. And for the first time, I wasn’t just dreaming, I was now planning. I even wrote down the kind of person I wanted to meet. Whenever that was going to be. But I was so sure, I had such a clear vision all of a sudden of exactly what I wanted in my life, and who I wanted whenever the time was right. Someone who would match my energy, share the passion for health and fitness, share my vision and help me bring it to life. The beginning of 2025 was the start of a whole new adventure. The best adventure yet.
Who I Am, Why Hybrid Endurance Coach Exists, and What You’ll Gain Here: Part 1 of 3.
From backpacker to bootcamp: The unexpected start of my fitness journey. I didn’t start out thinking I’d be a coach, let alone running my own global community. My journey began in a very different place: performing arts at university. Movement, expression, and performance were always in my blood. But after graduating, I had one clear pull. I wanted to travel. I set off to Southeast Asia to explore theatre and culture, then moved on to Australia for a year of pure backpacker life: living in teepees, working on dive boats, nut packing in factories, farm work in the outback, and eating my way across the coastlines. I loved it. Eventually, I needed a reset. So I booked a two week bootcamp in Thailand. Two weeks turned into three and a half months. And those months set the foundation for what would become my career in fitness. When I returned home, I jumped into a personal training course, but life had another twist waiting. One random night, heading to Tesco with my brother, I ran into my old Subway manager (yes, I was once a proud Subway sandwich artist, working 60+ hour weeks to fund my travels — and honestly, it was one of the most fun jobs I’ve ever had, thanks to Annette, my old manager). We started chatting, and before I knew it, he offered me a job managing his brand new gym. Just like that, I stepped into the world of coaching and leadership. But I couldn’t shake the pull of Thailand. After only six months working at home, I was back on a plane, back to where I’d first found my love for fitness, and back to where I’d first found myself. It became a rhythm for me: returning to Thailand almost like a checkpoint, a reminder that I was still on the right path. In between those trips, I threw myself into every opportunity that came my way. I worked as Fitness Director at an all girls camp in upstate New York. I freelanced teaching everything from Zumba and aqua aerobics to yoga, HIIT classes, and personal training; basically your classic PT who never left the gym floor.
