@Jack Setaro Professional photographer :) I still see myself being in Mx as well for a while, but I enjoy the dip into Spain every summer. Good mix.

@Ethan Carlone what area of France is that? Looks amazing.
What was it like to move abroad?
If you have moved abroad what was your experience like? Was it hard? Was there anything you were worried about before making the move? If you had to get a visa what was the process like. For me both times I found the exprience easier than I expected and I'm interested to hear if other felt the same. If so maybe it can help break down some of the mental barriers people have in regards to moving abroad

I have experience some small unexpected issues, but all minor and hard to predict. Nothing not worth it. I have only used Tourist Visas’s for the last 7 years. Helps that mexico grants 180 days, and don’t really care if you overstay is is very easy to extend through a quick « payment » or short trip to Tijuana :).
Is Fear a Factor?
When I speak to people close to me from back home I often sense some type of fear in them when talking about traveling or moving abroad. Its commonly things such as, "that place is too dangerous" or "i don't know the language". Even things as simple as "I wouldn't have enough money". As you can guess there are even more doubts when it comes to moving. What has helped you to over come fears, and if you haven't overcome them what are you biggest fears and where do they come from?

I feel you Jack, same thing for me. I realized it happens as well when I talk about running a Marathon or riding 200km on a bike, the gap from where the listener is and the outcome is too big. They cannot reconcile how to get there. Ultimately the best way i found to explain what is happening is through: decision. If you have not decided to do something, to commit, it makes that every "hurdle" you think about is going to be amplified. Bigger, fee like impossible to overcome. It's like a human sabotage mechanism to keep you save :) When you decide, when you commit, all the sudden the same hurdles now become checklist items on your way to the Outcome desired. Instead of seeing problem, you will see solutions.

I chose to design a life that I can take anywhere, that is not anchored to a geographical location or circumstance. My priorities are to live in places I love and do work that fulfills me, and the rest takes care of itself in better ways that if I tried to control the outcome. To me, freedom is given and can always be taken away. Like a job giving you the ability to work remotely. Sovereignty on the other hand is built. You can create work, design a life and have more control over your money and your health. For me, if I outsource my time to an external source, I end up with a safe and predictable outcome. (Which I did a lot đŸ€Ș) But if if keep my time internally, spend it like I want to, doing things I love, I get magical unpredictable outcomes I could never have predicated.
How do you insure against Emergency Medical while away?
Even when at home, medical care varies so much from one country to another. I have met so many travellers who find themselves uninsured medically! This is such an unnecessary risk.

I have been using Safety Wings (Essential) for 6 years - still have not made a claim, so I cannot vouch for service and response time 😆 I love that renews every 4-weeks for a whole year, before needing to start another policy. It's great they also offer Complete Health which could stand alone as a Primary Policy.

@Jack Setaro My experience in Mexico, living in a Touristy area, is that many Private hospitals charge "Insurance Rate" - so on par with what the US would charge :( Local doctors are great, and local hospitals are hot and miss. Many of them cannot afford to carry even essentials like bandages, syringes, etc. I guess it all comes down to risk tolerance and the ability to pay out of pocket a big bill should it arise.
