I've been dealing with a lot of uncertainty lately, so I've been focused on being more present in the present. As part of my quest for inner peace, I've been listening to a lot of talks and guided meditations on the Insight Timer app. (Brilliant app by the way, if you, like me, are on the quest to become more grounded and connected to a higher power than myself) It was during one of these talks that the book 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle was mentioned as a game-changer for spiritual awakening. I remember making a mental note to read that book. So this morning, I was lingering outside my house after a short walk, and suddenly felt the urge to cross the road and stand in the sun for a bit before going back inside. So I did only to find piles of books lying behind the bushes on the pavement. It isn't the first time I've seen piles of books put outside for passersby to take. I was just about to leave when my eye caught a book by its colour, so I pulled it out of the pile. It was Eckhart Tolle's book 'The Power of Now'! I felt so grateful for how the universe, random coincidence, or whatever it is, often shows me what I need, making me feel more connected and appreciative of life's small surprises.
