Nature (daily) meditation
Another day on holiday, sat in nature for 1hr practicing mindfulness and tai chi and listening to the water. Nature brings as deep joy that I find myself craving. @Lana Burns for the mushrooms!

Lana from the woods
Hey, I’m Lana! I’m from the Woodend/Macedon Ranges area of Australia. As a friend and fan of Zach’s work, I had to jump at the opportunity to connect with other like minded folk. I’ve delved into all kinds of meditative and self growth practices over my lifetime, too many to list. My current practice is a mixed bag of them all, nature immersion being my absolute favourite. Here’s a view from one of my most loved spots…

@Zachary Phillips I too have felt the call of the sea lately! the season perhaps? much to discuss here haha My experience with nature immersion changes depending on what I need and where I am. Looking up at the expanse of the night sky is a very simple version of that, a good perspective reset. Most of the time it's bare feet on the ground, often kneeling and placing my hands on the ground too. A very literally 'grounding' practice, a way of borrowing strength? knowing it can hold me, hold it all. I do the same with trees, sitting down and leaning my full body weight against them. This is where imagination steps in, allowing my mind to grasp the interconnectedness of all things, how I am part of it, that the wisdom and strength of nature is in me too. I allow all my senses to take in my environment, the scent of the forest is absolutely hypnotic if you pay close enough attention. People assume that being in the natural world will calm you, often in the moment I'm quite alert, taking in everything, the calmness comes later. I also HIGHLY recommend when walking in an open space, especially when you can see a broad horizon ahead, throwing your arms right back, chest forward, head tilted high. ahhh bliss! like you can take on anything.
December Self-Care Challenge - Staying Sane This Festive Season!
If you are like me, December can be pretty overwhelming with all the commitments and catchups on top of regular life. I love it, but if I don't take the time to rest and recover, I burn out. So rather than go through that cycle again, I've decided to preemptively implement some self-care and I am inviting you to do the same (making it a challenge to keep us all accountable to one another... and more importantly ourselves)! HOW TO JOIN THE DECEMBER SELF-CARE CHALLANGE: Pick one small act of self-care you can do every day to stay grounded and regulated. Something that feels nourishing, simple, and doable. eg: - Music - Reading - Take a bath - Meditation - Nature walk - Exercise - Cup of tea - Journaling Or choose something you’ll cut back on this month to ease the pressure. When you’ve chosen your practice, comment below and let us know what you’re committing to and why! I will keep this post pinned until new year!

I do soooooo many self care practices. So, for me it will be that after every gathering or event, NOT analysing a single thing. Just accepting situations and interactions for what they were, no 'post mortem' going over everything that was said or done. I will simply ask myself "was I kind?" that is all, that's the only thing that matters. That I was kind.

@Zachary Phillips ooophhh this reminder was needed today after I was JUST ruminating about a social interaction haha. Back to it!
Member celebration! - Lana Burns w/Fabled Magazine
I wanted to take a moment to celebrate @Lana Burns for her work bringing Fabled magazine to life. Along with a couple of others she had an amazing kickstarter launch and produced something incredible. I’ll put the link below, but Fabled is biannual magazine that celebrates the enchanting realm of fairytales, myths, and the stories that captivate our imagination. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary for artists, writers, and dreamers, a place where creativity flourishes and unique voices resonate. I’ve submitted my piece ‘burn these pages’ for the second issue (fingers crossed, waiting to hear back!). I encourage you to check it out and say hi to Lana. On a personal side, Lana has always been in my corner with my Poetry and other creative work, providing public and private support over the years. And is one of the people who I truly thank for helping me to get to where I am (and am going). Well done Lana on playing your part in brining such an awesome thing to life! https://www.fabledmagazine.com.au

Once again, thank you! and I'm so happy to be part of this community you have created. Community and connection has been an important building block in the foundation of Fabled. And in my personal growth too. I hope this work can be a guiding light for others! 💚🌿

@Heather Martinez What a beautiful place life has guided you, even though it took such tragedy to land here…with that view. A window alter is truly inspiring.
