Week 1: Back to the Basics LahLah Land, we’re starting this new routine at the foundation. Sometimes we convince ourselves we need a new ritual, new book, new deck, new teacher, new practice, or a whole damn spiritual awakening when really… We need to get back to the shit we already KNOW grounds us. 😂 This week, I’m doing it right along with y’all. I’m intentionally bringing my Rising and Evening spiritual routines back into my everyday life: meditation, grounding, gratitude, music, candles, ancestor acknowledgment, breathwork, study and actually making time to sit with myself. 🌿 Today I want you to think about YOUR basics. I personally believe there are three things everybody can benefit from practicing: 🧘🏾 Meditation — learning how to become still, listen and observe yourself. 🌳 Grounding — coming back into your body, your environment and the present moment. 🙏🏾 Gratitude — intentionally acknowledging what you receive, experience and appreciate. Everything else? Your practice needs to actually fit YOU. Maybe you pray. Maybe you read the Bible. Maybe you study different religions. Maybe you work with ancestors. Maybe you use divination. Maybe you journal. And maybe you DON’T journal. 🤣 Y’all know damn well I give y’all journal prompts because most of y’all love them. I am not a journaling girlie. I write down what comes through during meditation, and that’s about as much as you’re getting outta me. 😂 That’s part of the lesson too: Don’t leave one belief system full of rules just to build yourself another one. Especially for those of you questioning Christianity, leaving organized religion, or trying to figure out what you believe now: you don’t have to throw everything away. Read your Bible if you want to. Research it. Learn its history. Question what you were taught. Study other perspectives. And don’t blindly believe me either. Learn. Question. Research. Discern.
