With a heavy heart
It truly pains me to share this, but I need to pause the community for now, at least for the foreseeable future. Recently, I lost my right-hand person in my business, and it’s left me with a lot on my shoulders. Right now, my priority has to be focusing on rebuilding, stabilizing, and ensuring the continued growth and success of my company. Because of that, I don’t have the capacity to give this community the energy and consistency it deserves. I’ll be leaving the group open so you can continue to connect with one another, but depending on how things go, I may decide to close it down in the future—I’m still figuring that part out. I’m extremely grateful for the support, encouragement, and connections this community has brought together. This isn’t goodbye forever—just a pause while I take the time I need to get things back on track. Thank you all for understanding. I know you will. 💙

So sorry to hear! I pray you find your even better right hand person soon! I'm looking for mine currently as well. I LOVED your Wed calls and just started putting it back on my schedule after being in the field 40+ hours for a month. This business is a roller coaster at times. I fully believe you'll be back to rocketing up soon! If you want the community to hold down the bi-weekly meetings for you for awhile until you come back to lead, I'm sure we would! There are so many groups for home care, but yours was the most authentic I've found:) Blessings and keep growing, you got this!!

@Mariam Dawood Ok, we have clients! Now getting quality staff! I have drastically changed my hiring approach from friend to setting clear expectations and that has helped:) Any ideas on how to structure the schedule/pay of an on-call or PRN staff? I'm in the field over 40 hours weekly!
Does this mean I’m famous?
I have been removing horrible, nasty comments on FB since we started running ads. This one had me laughing-even though it was hurtful. Is this what celebrities feel?

They are just jealous that you're pretty. Glad you are able to laugh at haters!
Caregiver buyout fee
I was just responding to a member question and it just popped in my head that most of you guys might not know about the caregiver buyout clause. It’s when your client contracts your caregiver privately (they do this to save money). I had no idea about it-luckily I had a really amazing client that told me to put that clause in my contract-I mean he then bought my caregiver out of her contract but at least he was ethical 😅 My original buyout was $15,000, I’ve since upped it to $45,000 because clients were buying my caregivers!!! I much rather keep them honestly. You lose a lot more than that one client when you lose a good caregiver. And yes, $45k seems like a nice payout but trust me when I say a good caregiver will be 2X that in a year’s time if you keep them in your company. I’ve had caregivers who paid for their own salaries within 2 months of hiring them with the quality of care and experience they had-extending hours with clients, bringing other good caregivers, spreading our reputation. The investment and potential of amazing caregivers is massive.

Great information!!! Thank you
I'm a National Placement and Referral Alliance Affiliate!
I joined the NPRA as an affiliate! I didn't even know there was such an option!! I'm beyond excited! I feel like I keep unlocking gold mines-and I'm here to share the wealth. The cost is $349.99 for the year (monthly is @29.99) From the website: An Affiliate Member is a company partner that works in the senior placement industry supporting senior placement agents and communities. Placement Agents rely on the services of other industry professionals in order to provide excellence in service to their clients. Recognizing the important role of these businesses, NPRA created the Affiliate Membership. This membership category allows networking and relationship building opportunities for those servicing the Placement Industry. Affiliate members can attend NPRA local and national chapter meetings, are “searchable” through the NPRA website, and can serve on both local and national boards of directors. Affiliate Members do not engage in the business of placement and referral compensation, and must follow the NPRA Best Practices and Code of Ethics. Affiliate members are are listed on the website's public "Companies Supporting Seniors" Directory. Some states don't have this up and running yet but 20 of them do with 20 more in the works. If your state has placement agents I would suggest signing up. I wonder if we get some kind of logo though-you guys know, like the ones you get that say "Proud member of such-n-such Chamber of Commerce" but it says NPRA instead? If I get it, I will let you know.
