The Next Chapter: Gen X Travel Journeys Is Now Hosting Curated Group Adventures
Since 2012, I haven’t just booked trips. I've guided journeys. Not just reservations but reassurance. Not chaos but confidence. Now something’s shifted. We’re not chasing cheap anymore. We're chasing peace. Not checking boxes. Choosing meaning. Not “How much can I see? "But “How does this feel?” More of us are traveling solo but we don’t want to feel alone. We want freedom not overwhelm. Community not crowds. So here’s what’s next. Hand-picked Gen X group journeys. Not tour buses. Not party chaos. Not rushed itineraries. Small groups. Intentional pacing. Culture. Conversation. Comfort. Come solo. Leave connected. This isn’t just booking travel. It’s building experiences for grown folks who know the difference. You in? Gen X knows how to travel solo without posting every moment for validation.
Here's what we do better than everyone else: We travel for the experience, not the content. We're not chasing the perfect shot for the algorithm. We're sitting at that café in Lisbon because the light is beautiful and the wine is good not because it'll get 500 likes. We remember what it's like to travel without needing to document every second. We know how to be alone without being lonely. We grew up as latchkey kids. We know the difference between solitude and isolation. Solo travel isn't something we had to learn from a TikTok tutorial, it's in our DNA. We're comfortable in our own presence, and that makes us better travelers. We value quality over quantity (and hype). We're not doing the 10-countries-in-14-days sprint. We're spending a week in one place, learning the rhythm of a neighborhood, finding the local spots, having real conversations. We'd rather have one incredible meal than five mediocre Instagram moments. We don't need an itinerary planned to the minute. We can wing it. We trust our instincts. We know how to ask locals for recommendations, read a room, pivot when something isn't working. We don't panic when plans change; we adapt. That's the superpower of growing up without GPS and Yelp. We can handle silence, boredom, and our own company. We're not afraid of a quiet dinner alone or a long train ride without scrolling. We don't need constant stimulation or someone to validate our choices. We're okay with just being. And that makes solo travel not just possible, but deeply fulfilling. Solo travel isn't a trend for Gen X. It's a return to who we've always been: independent, resourceful, and unbothered. Which of these resonates most with your travel style? Or what would you add to this list? Drop your thoughts below ☮️

Did you at least make some down time to spend it on the beach?
Back in Our Flying Days
Gen X fam, remember when flying felt different? - When you could actually walk someone to the gate. - When legroom existed. - When they fed you a real meal. - When you dressed up for flights like you might run into somebody Now? We're boarding in Group 8, doing yoga in the aisles just to stand up, and praying nobody sits in our seat. So let's reminisce 👇🏾What’s one thing about "back in the day" flying that you wish would come back? - Gate access? - Free checked bags? - Free meals? - No TSA? - Smoking sections? - Something else? Drop your answer below and let’s take this nostalgic flight together ✌🏾

@Michael Johnson TSA is now allowing non-flying “guest pass” or “visitor pass” for loved ones to walk someone to the gate. The number of guest/visitor passes are limited and the participating airports are Detroit, Orlando, San Antonio and Seattle. They must complete an application in advance, get TSA vetted and go through regular security screening.

@Colin McGregor It's a pleasure to meet you 😊 I'm looking forward to retirement so I can cruise & travel the world without having to request permission off work. Out of all the destinations you've visited, what's your top 2?

@Michael Johnson I'm happy you're here 😊 New Orleans is absolutely delightful. How many cruises have you sailed on? Japan is #3 on my bucket list.
