Last week I asked you guys to help me decide what I should paint for my mother-daughter painting day with Michelle, and the results are in. 🦋 57% voted for the butterfly 🐶 39% voted for Chip 🌺 4% voted for the flowers After carefully tallying the votes, double-checking them, triple-checking them, and giving each option the thoughtful consideration it deserved... The final decision is in, and 𝗜'𝗺 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗽. 😂 Listen, I appreciate your participation in this process. I really do. But since it's my house and my wall, I get executive veto power! And LOOK AT THAT FACE. How was I supposed to choose anything else?! So today is officially the day! My daughter and I are currently in the car, almost to Michelle's, where we're spending the day learning how to turn our chosen photos into actual paintings. I'm ridiculously excited to see how this goes because I'm starting today with a photograph, and when Michelle works her magic, I'm coming home with something I actually painted myself. How freaking cool is that?! I'll keep you posted on Chip's transformation throughout the day, but he's not the only one getting the artistic treatment. My daughter has chosen to paint one of her favorite roosters, Howdini. 🐓 Yes, Howdini. He's named after Howard from The Big Bang Theory because that's one of her favorite shows, but Howard likes magic, so naturally the chicken became Howdini! And this is exactly why I love 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀. Michelle takes something that feels completely out of reach and breaks it down step by step until suddenly you're looking at it thinking... "Hold my coffee... I might actually be able to do this!" I have no freaking clue how to paint a realistic portrait of my dog. But Michelle does. And today she's going to teach me. So we're about to find out just how much magic she can work. 😂 Maybe she is the real Howdini?!
