Owning and Overcoming Fear.
Fear is something that we all struggle with on a fundamental level, it is the one thing that can hold us back from giving a presentation, getting lunch with a friend, or doing something that we don't think we can. We have been conditioned to fear a lot as humans, I'm guilty of it and I know a lot of you might be as well. Something that has been weighing very heavily on me as of late is that you cannot let fear control you. You cannot let it get in the way of doing things that the Lord has called you to do. For so long. We have sat within our own comfort zones scared to even peek out the window. To step off that ledge. Fear is a tool that the enemy likes to use to keep us in its back pocket, to keep us close without even our own knowledge. The Lord would never ever put fear into any of his children. For the Lord. Calls us to be fearless and Free. The enemy tries to use fear to keep us on a leash, to keep us from getting closer with God. When we step out of our comfort zones and into that fear, oftentimes chaos can ensue. But something the Lord spoke to me earlier today is that there is comfort in the chaos. We have to learn to get uncomfortable and be okay being uncomfortable. That is when the true work can begin. So I challenge each and every one of you to do one thing a day that scares you, do that one thing that you've been putting off for so long because you're afraid, afraid of rejection, afraid to relinquish control, afraid of the unknown, even afraid of yourself. Lay it all out before the Lord, surrender that fear. You have absolutely no idea what could be in store for you. Once you decide to finally let go. Get uncomfortable. And bring it all to God. Kei a tatou te Atua, e whakarongo ana ia ki a tatou, e aroha ana ki a tatou. Tangi atu ki a ia Translation: (God is with us, he listens to us, he loves us. Cry out to him.)
The Disciple maker’s Prayer
Heavenly Father God, Thank you for giving me a disciplemaking way of life in Christ Jesus. As I go through every part of this day, help me to love you and love the people who cross my path- starting with my family. Don’t let me miss the adventures you are sending my way to live and to speak the good news about Jesus today. Draw my heart to you and to specific people you want me to pull close for Jesus-like discipleship making friendships. By your Word and Spirit, transform me into a follower of Jesus who loves you, loves people, and makes disciples — who makes more disciples, ad infinitum. —In Jesus Mighty Name. amen Deut 6:1-9, Mark 3:13-14 ; 12:30-31, Matt28:18-20, John17:20, Acts 1:8, 1Cor 4:16-17 I first hand have seen the incredible power and fire coming from regularly declaring these scriptures and this prayer, over individuals and groups of people 🔥🙌🏽 It’s such a blessing that God allows us to bare witness to the fire being ignited in others lives 🙏🏽
