Outside of your family, who were the top 3 most influential voices in your life? I asked this question to my waitress yesterday while sitting with Scott Wilson Leadership. Within two minutes of us saying hi, Scott did what Scott does abd that is locked in with his eyes, leaned across the table and started speaking with passion his vision of what God has put in his heart. It took me back 30 years when a 17 year old kid found himself foregoing scholarships to play ball because God had stirred my heart to impact the Kingdom. At the time my best friend Bryan Brooks and I would sneak into the church after hours to hold our revivals. He was Rod Parsley and I was T.D. Jakess and we were the next upcoming names. What made us think we were the next is because of our leader Scott. I learned to pray - yes I pace the floor when I pray. I learned to speak - yes I get exited abd passionate when I talk. I learned to cast vision - no matter what I believe Gods gonna do it and it’s gonna be big. All of this happened because Scott and Jeanie took me in and loved me like their own. My first gift this year was the gift of reuniting for lunch. Now we need to pray for him - we went to a Mexican restaurant and he ordered a plate of steak only with no rice no beans just meat only. His kids are adults His wife is amazing Their grandkids are adorable And he’s still in fire inspiring people and pastors to be and do more for the Kingdom. Best part - I got to take a picture with my living legend. I am who I am because He is who he is. I’m grateful. Let’s not wait this long for our next meetup.

Grateful For Growth I wouldn’t have stuck around if I remained the same. I said this to myself during a morning meditation time. Think about who you were 20 years ago. Hopefully your image isn’t as bad as mine. I was a charismatic communicator, who knew the answer to the questions you never asked, sarcastic asshole who laced the message of motivation with alliteration that made you say if he’d become humble and coachable he could be phenomenal. I told you the image in my mind wasn’t the best one. But as I said I’m grateful for my growth spurt. The day I finally saw me, I sought to develop me. I needed a come to Jesus moment. I received a wake up call that great beats good every day of the week. Good guy Good salesmen Good Christian Good dad Good husband Good speaker Good life Someone reading is saying I’d take that life right there. You didn’t list one bad thing. The bad thing is a great life was being blocked because I was ok with being ok at good. Good didn’t require much change. Good was comfortable. Good was neutral. It allowed me to be liked but not truly respected. It allowed me to be applauded, but not truly appreciated. It allowed me to be picked, but not truly paid. It allowed me to appear successful, but not truly fulfilled. You still me - remember I’m talking about me. My good life. We often move so fast that we don’t check in to price out what it’s really costing us when we stay the same. When we blend instead of brand, when we dim instead of shine. Have you ever had one or two of these thoughts? Mine became reoccurring.
