Welcome to the group
Welcome to CNC Startups! Introduce Yourself! 🎉
I’m Ryan, the founder of this group and a passionate CNC entrepreneur. I’m super excited to have you all here. This community is all about helping each other grow, learn, and create with CNC machines—whether you’re just starting or looking to take your skills to the next level. Here’s a little about me: - I’ve been working with CNC machines for 10 years, building a business and helping others do the same. - My favorite thing about CNC is turning a simple design into a product that people love. - Fun fact: I love Bourbon and Tequila, and have over 100 bottles in my collection/stash Now it’s your turn! In the comments, let us know: - Your name and where you’re from - What stage are you at in your CNC journey (just starting, hobbyist, business owner, etc.)? - What you’re most excited to create or learn with CNC - A fun fact about yourself! Looking forward to getting to know everyone and seeing what amazing projects we’ll create together!

I am a retired novice woodworker and artist from SC I am trying to start my woodworking and canvas crafts business and raise funds to grow it. I have a Genmitsu 4030proverxl most of the items I made on my CNC were for family. I have done an extension kit to expand to 24x24 and Genmitsu did a kit that allowed me to use the old parts and make a second CNC that is 15.8 x 11.8. I have it set up as a laser engraver.

@Phin Perquin is Fusion 360 easy to learn. I was looking at downloading a trial version
New CNC question...
Quick question for the group... I currently have a Longmill - 1st edition - looking to upgrade to a more robust machine - looking at the Stepcraft M700 or the Digital Wood carver DWC2836. Does anyone have experience with either of these? I have looked at the Onefinity, Altmill, Shapeako and feel for a couple more bucks I can get a more heavy duty machine. Any thoughts or any other machine recommendations. Oh, I do want a quick delivery - maybe a month or so.

I used both carveco and easel software easel is good if you are a beginner with no experience. I love carveco it is $180 a year or $15 a month you are able to design from scratch and there are tons of videos from Roger web and other shops like hinkle. They have many training videos on their web site and at Christmas they give away 3d reliefs that are Christmas theme currently using carveco marker and wanting to sell products that will support me using carveco maker plus
Y2 motor help?
I just assembled my Genmitsu ProverXL 4030 V2 CNC last night and when I try to jog forward, the left axis where Y1 motor is moves forward but the right side where Y2 motor is doesn’t move the axis. When I check the wiring, I do notice it flashes red obviously telling me it didn’t move and only one side did but I’m not sure if it’s a faulty wire, faulty motor or just something I didn’t do with the assembly. Does anyone have this CNC and can help me troubleshoot? I can take a video to better show what the issue is if that helps troubleshoot. This is literally day 1 of CNC so I literally know nothing about where to even start to fix this.🤔
