Double Walled basket
I am so excited, I did my first double walled basket! I thought it was too advanced for me, but I gave it a shot and it wasn’t too bad. A little tricky in the beginning keeping track of which reeds I was weaving. Pictures show progression from inside basket to completed basket.

So gorgeous! And well done! this is on my list and I too have felt intimidated! But I really want to make even more durable baskets! I love that you did two different colors for each wall so you could really see the difference!
Palecek San Francisco Showroom Basket Light Fixtures
I was in San Francisco last week and visited the Palecek showroom in the San Francisco Design Center. Palecek is a high-end furniture maker incorporating a lot of natural fibers and weaving into their designs. I was very fortunate to be gifted one of their baskets a couple of years ago. I thought of you all and took a few photos I thought you’d enjoy. Note the weaving on the chairs in the background of the first photo. I have long wanted to weave a lampshade but I am particularly inspired by the table lamp body it reminds me a bit of a pineapple ($2,639!). Also, I’d like to learn more about the “random weaving” technique (I think that’s what it is called) shown in several of the lampshades. Has anyone made a light fixture?

These are so beautiful! I am gonna have to give this a try too! I love finding Basketry in the wild and taking pics for inspiration.
June Challenge - Nothing But Scraps🧺
Happy Monday weavers! Time for a fun challenge. Your mission: Weave a basket using nothing but scrap reed. Dig into that tangle and use what you've got — odd lengths, leftover colors, random bits. Any of these patterns work beautifully with scraps: - Scrappy Basket (especially great for color scraps) - Bread Basket - The Garlic (perfect for round reed scraps) - Hanging Vase Baskets - Tobacco Tray - Candle Lantern Or design your own. There are no rules here — just use what's already lying about, threatening to engulf you like a hydra.😂 When you're done, come back and post a photo. Let's see what you make.

@Brittany Stanton Thanks, Brittany! I have been having fun with color lately! I did a braided border with #2 round reed. I learned this at CNCH last year... Jan Milner taught us this while making a a Williamsburg Handled Market Basket with a braided border. One of my favorite ways to make a fancy rim. But it takes as long if not longer to do then the basket itself.
Sun Hat Workshop is Here!
Hello lovely weavers! The Sun Hat workshop has just gone live, and just in time for the weekend! Woohoo! You can find it in the Classroom. The video sessions will guide you through the techniques you will need to complete your hat. You will need to rely on the instruction manual pretty heavily for sizing and for specific notes as you move through construction. I did my best to create an accurate size guide that will fit a wide range of sizes. Please note this is a guideline, not hard and fast rules as heads and hats can be many different shapes and sizing for this project isn't a precise science. If you run into problems feel free to share them in the Get Help community tab and I will do my best to assist you. Sharing photos of your issues is always super helpful. You can include photos in your question posts if you like. Thank you all for your excitement and patience for this workshop! I'm super excited to be sharing it. A lot of love and mental gymnastics went into making this one. Baskets don't usually have to end up being specific sizes, so it took all my garment construction experience to work out how to communicate creating a good fit😁. Happy weaving!

You and your hat look fabulous!! I really love how you personalized the design. So cool!!
Harvest Basket
Tried my hand at another rib basket. Used a piece of bittersweet vine as the rim, seagrass and 1/4” flat reed for weavers. It was fun to let the basket evolve to what it wanted to be and not try to force a shape.

I love it and think it's so cool that you went out and found your own rim. It reminds me of a potato basket and I think brittany's idea to use it as a table center is perfect! I
