Day 5 - 7 Day Challenge -> Reach Out FURTHER & Share Your Art
Action is the name of the game! 💰🎨 Task: - Today, take one bigger step toward selling. Choose one of the selling methods you picked yesterday and take an action: Motivation: Fear of rejection holds most artists back. But selling art is a numbers game. The more people who see your work, the more chances you have to sell.

I will complete my submission to an Open Call that's been lingering on my ToDo list all week despite having everything ready for it. I'm not sure why this one is feeling so big and hard to do, so it's time to just get it done and get my work out to that jury!
Day 4 - 7 Day Challenge -> Brainstorm Ways to Sell Your Art WHERE your Right Buyer is!
Day 4: Brainstorm Ways to Sell Your Art WHERE your Right Buyer is! Task: Write down at least 10 possible ways you could sell your art by reaching your Right Buyer WHERE THEY ARE. Don't judge them, just list everything that comes to mind. - Online shop? Instagram DMs? Galleries? Art fairs? Licensing? Collaborations? Murals? Coffee Shops? Events? Live Paintings? Facebook groups? Reddit? Conferences? Trade shows? Charity events? Then, circle the top 3 that excite you the most. These will be your focus. Motivation: Selling art isn’t just about “waiting for someone to buy.” There are countless ways to make sales, you just need to choose and take action! Action Step for Today: Choose one way to get your art seen before the day is over. This isn’t about perfection it’s about taking some action to get the ball rolling. More tomorrow. Example: - Text a photo of your latest art to a former client. - Send a simple message: "Hey name, I worked on a new artwork and I think based on the xyz panting you bought before you'd absolutely love this one. Do you want me to send you a photo?" - Or post a painting on facebook, instagram, per email (one of the ways you chose) Report back in the comments👇
Day 4 - 7 Day Challenge -> Brainstorm Ways to Sell Your Art WHERE your Right Buyer is!

I've got ten ways to find my buyers, three of which are broader catergories like "Local fairs/markets/festivals" that will offer numerous opportunities through the year (I'm tracking a couple of deadlines for summer applications). The top 3 for me at the moment are Instagram/Pinterest (my insta feeds direct into Pin at the moment until I qualify for their merchant program), my online store (this has been live since November and I enjoy maintaining it; I keep a blog going there as well), and calls for artists at museums and for other organizations and collections (I have one that I'll be submitting to by the end of the month). My action today was to post one of my newer pieces to Instagram (which will then push to Pinterest). I do want to explore airport gift stores a bit more after this exercise. I have some smaller, easily transportable pieces that I am experimenting with to make even more travel-ready. Since my ideal buyer frequently travels, I've been thinking of ways to create compact art that can slip into a carry-on to personalize a hotel room or a temporary desk. It may not be a huge profit-maker in itself, but could be something closer to a "loss-leader" that generates more clients and business and helps me stand out.
Day 3 - 7 Day Challenge -> Find out WHERE YOUR RIGHT BUYER is
If you want to sell more art, you need to know where your right buyer spends their time. The more you understand their habits, interests, and communities, the easier it becomes to connect with them. Tasks: - Where does your ideal buyer spend their time? - What do they consume? (Podcasts, books, news, online content) - What do they do for fun? - What Facebook groups, Reddit communities, or other online spaces would they be a part of? Be as specific as possible. For example: If your ideal buyer is passionate about environmental causes, they might: ✅ Join organizations like The Sierra Club or Save the Whales. ✅ Participate in beach cleanups, forest restoration projects, or climate change symposiums. ✅ Subscribe to magazines or newsletters devoted to sustainability. If they are interested in Personal Growth, they might: ✅ Join specific personal growth groups on facebook, telegram, skool etc ✅ Read books of specific authors and therefor join their courses and communities ✅ Attend live events from Tony Robbins, Joe Dispenza, Mel Robbins etc The more you know about where your buyer hangs out, the better you can show up where they already are. My ideal buyer visits museums, national parks, and science centers. They enjoy browsing bookstores, farmers markets, and local fairs & fests. They will relax and unwind at spas and wellness centers. They are more likely to be on Instagram than Facebook and BlueSky than X/Twitter. They listen to self-help podcasts and look for quirky and engaging content to keep them entertained as they travel for work or pleasure (streaming service premium series in various genres).
Day 2 - 7 Day Challenge -> Define Your Niche & Right Buyer
Welcome to Day 2: Define Your Niche & Right Buyer This one is so important because "If you try to sell to everyone, you are going to sell to no one" and this is a big thing for every single business, but also crucial for artists! Look at Drew he build his whole art career around painting surf boards and he even said he wants to become the best well known surf artists which he became, and only after years of success in this field he started exploring a new niche around sacred geometry. Task: - What kind of art do you create? Be specific. “Abstract paintings” is too broad, what makes yours unique? - Who is your right buyer? Describe them. - If someone asked you what you do in one sentence, what would you say? Example: I create large, textured abstract paintings that symbolize transformation and growth. Motivation: Trying to appeal to everyone means you connect with no one. The clearer you are, the easier it is to attract collectors who love what you do. Comment below your answers 👇

My abstract art finds fantastic in the microscopic and macroscopic worlds around us, highlighting with neurographic line art and additions of other media. My right-buyer has an appreciation of science, research, and speculative fiction. They are educated professionals who live near scientific or research hubs, travel often, but enjoy connecting with their local communities through local art fairs and museum events. They earn $75-150K, frequent spas and wellness centers and embrace the queer community.
Day 1 - 7 Day Challenge -> Get Clear on What You Want & Why
7-Day Art Success Challenge Get clear on your vision, your why, your niche, and start building a path to sell your art! Day 1: Get Clear on What You Want & Why Task: - Write down your ultimate goal as an artist. Be specific. No vague answers like “I want to sell more art” or “I want to be successful.” - Instead, commit to a number: - Don't worry about how you’ll do it. Just commit to what you truly want. Motivation: Most artists fail because they don’t set clear goals. If you don’t know what you’re aiming for, how will you hit it? Declare it today! Getting CLEAR prevents Burn Out - and Changing Plans - because everytime you change your mind, because of doubt, you burn out. Doubt = burn out. To avoid Doubt, you can get clear on what and why you are doing this. And then stay on the path, even when doubt hits. Stay on it, don’t get off of it. This avoids burnout! @Oliver Hojas It does excite me in the sense that I know I'll be able to support the comfortable start I've established with this goal. That is a big win for me at this stage of my journey, and I'm excited to see where I grow beyond that.

@Maria Brophy Thanks! It's definitely something to consider. I'll sit with that some more today and update with where I land.
