Food Fear & Other Related Topics :D
Hey Y'all, happy Sunday 🥰 I'm coming here today to talk about food fear, the healing process regarding food, and the toxic programs I often see people (myself included) get stuck in during the healing process. Yesterday I posted a photo of a Honeydew milk tea I had from a local boba place. If you know me, you know boba is a new favorite of mine & although I don't consider this a "healing food" I have 0 issues drinking things like this for fun, to enjoy my life. As a society, we create emotional connections with other people and with ourselves through food. Whether that be a family meal cultivating connection and togetherness, or something we eat to feel good, just to enjoy it. Over the years, I thought that connection was not important. I actually bypassed that connection completely because I was using food as a tool to heal myself, so I no longer cared about eating thanksgiving dinner with my family, for example... during the height of my chronic illness, I juice fasted 3 thanksgivings in a row. Why? To prove to myself that I could #1, stay committed to what I was trying to do for myself & #2, overcome my emotional connections toward food and reframe my "family time & connection" to not include food at all... unless of course, someone else in my family was juice fasting or eating clean with me... then we would bond over that. This is problematic for me now, but I'll get to that. Back to my Honeydew Milk Tea :D After I posted that, I had a TON of people ask me about: - sugar content - is there food dye - is there corn syrup - what kind of milk was used - if this is a healthy option while healing - how can you even stand to drink things like this without knowing all the details All valid questions for sure, and these are things I would have asked too, if I were still in the mindset of food being the #1 thing that heals & if I was still struggling with food sensitvities. Throughout the first 5 years of my healing journey with interstitial cystitis, I used food as my main source of healing power. Water fasting, juice fasting, all fruit diet for months, intentional periods of eating raw vegan etc.

WOW! This is soooo refreshing to hear🥹 I do believe it is easy to get caught up in the one approach mentality to healing, myself included! I currently am struggling a bit with this so I can’t thank you enough for sharing this today🙏

These tinctures are amazing! The amount of filtration since being on detox and Biopure is remarkable! Oh, and drinking the detox tea. Also, I have a had a swollen finger for over one year without any injury or explanation of why it would be swollen. Within 1.5 weeks of being on these tinctures the swelling was noticeably less and now the swelling is GONE!!! I am also using no stress but only for the past 2 days and can say I notice a considerable difference in how I feel. I’m a quite anxious person however the past 2 days I have been more at ease, less overthinking and overall more chill with clear thoughts. It’s a freeing feeling! Looking forward to bow I feel with continued use☺️ THANKS FOR SUCH AMAZING PRODUCTS!
Butternut Squash + Sweet Potato Soup!
A couple days ago Peter requested butternut squash soup so I bought all the ingredients but the squash we ended up getting was very small so I had to add in *something* to make it stretch. I ended up adding in a sweet potato because we have a bunch so the base of this soup was: 1 sweet potato, peeled and cubed 1 small butternut squash, seeds scraped out, halved and scored 1 yellow onion I roasted those together at 400 degrees for 1 hour with some rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, salt and pepper. I season everything heavily. After the hour was up, I put all of it in my vitamix. I had to scrape the squash out to the peel, and I added a cup of canned, full fat, coconut milk, and 24oz of veggie broth to the blender. I blended it up and it ended up being about 64oz of soup which is all my blender will hold. Then I put it in a pot on the stove and added some more veggie broth to get my desired consistency. This was super low effort and yesterday I steamed up some broccoli to dip in it. It reminded me of broccoli + cheddar soup. If you make this, let me know if you liked it 🥰

@Brittani Franczek I feel better in regards to digestion on higher raw, particularly with fruits. I chalk this up to a higher water content and are known to digest faster🤷‍♀️ From listening to Dr Morse and reading a book of his, reading Muculess Diet and listening to various other “raw purists” it sounds like that is the way to go!?! The parasite I contracted while in Mexico caused me so many issues. I was down to 85 lbs and very sickly looking from 2001 to 2008 when I finally diagnosed. Anyway since then I have had nothing but struggles with digestion, severe abdominal discomfort and distinction after eating anything. It kinda has robbed me of my life in some ways. I’m sure others who have been ill, maybe yourself included, can relate to the continual seeking of anything that may potentially provide relief and bring about better health. For me that is a holistic route and that is why I am here🤗
