What would you put on a road sign?
People over explain. Someone asks "what do you do?" or "tell me about your Skool community," and we're off to the races. The background. The process. The calls. The DMs. This came up on the Mastermind call, the community call, and my one-to-ones this week. It's just a thing. You have to do stuff to get people a result. We know that. But people care way more about the result than the stuff you do to get them there. You've seen the sign on the side of the road. WE BUY HOUSES. Phone number. Clear offer. You either keep driving or you take a picture and call. You see these every single day: - Cash for Gold. - We Buy Junk Cars. - Keys Made. - Ice. (I love this one.) - Free Estimates. - Injured? Call now. - Cracked Screens Fixed Today. - Firewood $5. - Lawn Mowing. Call Jake. Four words or less. They all name the outcome. None of them explain how. Nobody explains how they buy the junk car. They just buy junk cars. There's a guy on Skool who helps kids with the SAT. His offer is "Get a 1550+ SAT score." Five words. I've looked at that page a bunch of times and I've never once read how he does it. If I wanted a 1550, I wouldn't care. It sounds ridiculous. But it truly needs to be that simple. When I sold elevators, I said "I sell elevators." When I was doing real estate with seller financing and all that, I said "I'm a landlord." Three words. A couple weeks ago I played golf with some strangers. What do you do? "I teach people how to make money on the internet." One guy asked if I was a consultant. Sort of, more like a coach. Then everybody hit their tee shots and nobody brought it up again. That's fine. If they wanted to make money on the internet, they would have asked. And if somebody does ask how, answer the question they asked. Only that one. As few words as possible. Then ask them a question back. Homework. Two questions. Put your answers in the comments and we'll all help each other. 1. What would you put on your road sign? Four words if you can.

@Brian O'Neill I also came up with simply…”Sell More Books!”

@Rafa Alonso Excellent suggestion!
Do you have a Skool community?
Here is your chance to share your Skool community. Who knows, maybe you'll get some members. Here's what you must do. Vote "Yes" or "No" in the poll below. Share your about page link and tell us what your community is about in 1-2 sentences. If you don't vote in the poll, you can't share your link. If you have multiple groups, pick the one you want us to see, not all of them. Let's see if we can get to 100 comments!

The Empty Room Playbook
If you came here from the new YouTube video, this is the thing I told you about. Ten steps to take the audience you already have and turn it into a room that pays you. The about page template I filled in on screen is in there too, at the end of Step 1. Fill in the brackets, get your page live. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CrQiPcnvRyupu6z9Sm7vWi-k2QWJ84LseXSx4eHSvjU/edit?usp=sharing It's free. Nothing to buy, nothing to opt into. You're already in. Fair warning on what's not in it. Nothing about building an audience, going viral, running ads, or learning a funnel. It's written for people who already have the audience and never turned it on. If that's not you yet, it'll still make sense. It just won't be urgent. And if you've been in PYOB a while and still haven't opened a room, this is your week. You've read enough. Then do one thing for me. Comment below with where you are right now: 1. Haven't opened a room yet 2. Room is open, nobody's paying 3. Room is open and people are paying Just the number is fine. Brian P.S. Room = Skool Community

@Brian O'Neill every month I’ve been adding a few. (Not as many as I’d like, lol) but I’m also still tweaking the group.
What do I charge for my Skool community?
First, we just hit 75 members in YouTube to Skool. And if you saw this post here, I said I'd be raising the price from $27 to $47 once we hit 75. The price is now $47. One time. Lifetime access. If you have an existing YouTube channel AND a Skool community, do not miss the next workshop I'm running on July 24th. If you're tired of guessing what to charge... this is the one. https://www.skool.com/youtubetoskool/about P.S. When you say you're going to raise your price after a certain member count or date, raise it. No one will ever believe you again. P.P.S. $47 won't be there forever. Don't wait and pay more for the same thing. https://www.skool.com/youtubetoskool/about

@Paulette Ng I see Brian already responded but, in short, no, if you don’t plan on creating a Skool then YT2S is not for you. That said, I would say, you don’t HAVE to have a nurturing personality to have a Skool. As long as you set the expectations accordingly on your about page, you can have a Skool that acts as pretty much a social media version of an email list. You could share “News/Updates” as you see fit and then moderators and the community itself can drive most of the communication and content. Just something to think about. 🤷‍♂️

@Paulette Ng oh I agree! Brian’s attentiveness is top notch!
One video. A week of emails. About 15 minutes.
Quick one for everyone in here sitting on an email list they've gone quiet on. You already know you're supposed to email them. That's not the problem. The problem is you open the laptop, stare at a blank screen, and can't think of one thing to say that doesn't feel like bothering them. So you close the laptop. Again. Here's what took me way too long to work out. You already wrote this week's emails. You wrote them when you hit record. That video you posted is three emails. One that gives them the lesson. One that gives them the story behind it. One that asks, in a single line, if they want more of you. Two give. One asks. Nobody feels pitched. I built a free tool that pulls all three out of one video for you, in your voice. About 15 minutes start to finish. Comment "EMAIL" and I'll send it to you. Brian

Pretty smart idea!

@Brian O'Neill I've started using it. I don't yet send 3 messages a week to my list. I have to gradually increase my email frequency. At the moment I send 1 email a week.
