I have joined Skool’s biggest public speaking competition! In this, I get a course which guides you through how to build your own signature talk, everyone gets to deliver it live, and there’s a chance for visibility + to win some big prizes. A signature talk is something that’s been on my mind for a while, so it seemed like a good idea to enter. The talks are due before June 19, so the clock is ticking! When we're writing a book, getting onto a virtual stage or a live stage are great ways to let people know about you and your story! So, talking about your book is vital to get more visibility on your book. 📖 Besides me, @Ben Sherry , @Justin Yip, @Wolfram Grohnert, @Björn Hagemann, and so many more! I can't wait for their talks! 🎉 More info about the competition here: https://headgain.com/skoolx How to JOIN: 1. Join The Public Speaking Community 2. You speak with so much emotion! It's going to be a nice talk for sure!
🎨 Story Play: The Choice Moment
Write a short scene where your character has to choose between: What feels safe vs What feels true Don’t overthink it. Let the tension lead.

@Dani Rosenblad James this is an excellent idea!
Writing At The Gym
Do you ever go to the gym and really push yourself? Maybe you’re lifting weights and you’ve got one more set. Or you’re on the treadmill and there’s half a mile left. There’s a moment where I pause, tighten my resolve, take a breath, and jump back into the exercise. Writing feels a lot like that to me. Last year I wrote four books in one big push. By the end of it, my brain felt completely fried, so the past few months have mostly been recovery. But lately I’ve started to feel that same sensation again. The breath before the next set. Not a frantic sprint. Just that quiet moment where I know it’s time to step back up to the bar. For me, the smaller pieces along the way, essays, posts, conversations, are like the lighter sets that keep the muscles warm between the heavy lifts. So I’m curious where you are right now - where are you in your writing gym? Are you in the middle of a heavy push? Catching your breath between sets? Or taking a recovery day before the next one? Or…are you looking at your running shoes and gym membership and thinking, “Gosh, I need to get back in there”?

@Shawn Helgerson I like statistics and numbers. I like helping people with ah ha moments. I like making puzzle pieces fit that weren't meant too. Have any thoughts to chime in on AI possibly taking ownership of anything you post on it? At least for perplexity at the moment but others may as well.

@Shawn Helgerson Then I need to find people who are looking to grow beyond their first successful product. Then help them to move onto the next thing. Or to take that same successful product and help them make it useful to a broader audience. Does that sound useful?
Share a Picture of Your Writing Space! ✍️
A great way to inspire others and to give them an idea of how you work can be through showing them your space. Now, for me, with it being winter time here in Sweden, my writing space has changed back to the house. 🏡 My writing space in the warmer times is lovely and is a tiny building. Unfortunately it’s not insulated. So, I like to be warm, by the fire while I write nowadays! So, share below in the comments your writing space!

@Dani Rosenblad James yeah it's a neck massager. My daughter gave it to me. But when we bought it I thought she was going to give it to her sister ...
Weekly Check-in!
Hey everyone! I hope you all had great holidays! Now it’s time to get back to work! I want to hear about your scribbles, new ideas, and what your plans are for this year! Let’s celebrate the wins, losses and everything in between! Now, you might be wondering, why celebrate the losses and the in-betweens? The losses give you a way to learn and grow. The in-betweens can help guide you in some direction as long as you’re taking action. A shovel doesn’t push the snow unless someone is using the shovel. The pen does not write the story, it’s the person behind the pen. 🖊️ So taking the steps are vital to get to where you want! Now, share so that we can grow together and support one another! 😁

@Dani Rosenblad James Ah okay! 2 ways, improvisation Infront of people. Semi scripted based off of environment prop sets so it doesn't matter who's there. Like a Clue game where no mater who the player is the story will move along.
