Hey Heyyyyy, I’m Key. 👋🏽 I’m an artist and writer. Funny enough, people either call me Key or the Architect of Possibility lol. I write my own lyrics first, usually from the questions underneath what we do — what shaped us, what we repeat, what we confront, what we choose differently, and the legacy we live and leave. I used to write and sing once upon a time, my first performance was when I was seven years old, but after lots of competitions and things in school and life, taking a hard turn I laid that down. In more recent years, I have done a tremendous amount of motivational speaking and various other speaking engagements, including aspects of writing, poetry, training facilitation forpersonal and leadership development. Musically, I’m in the R&B / soul / hip-hop space, and I use AI as one of the tools in my creative process to help bring the sound around my writing to life… I never anticipated getting back into music if I’m being truthful, Frank, the end of November I had to have emergency surgery because my spine began to collapse in my neck. I lost the use of my arms and hands. The surgery required a 5 inch incision across my throat. I did not have much of a voice and didn’t think I could ever sing again for sure and wasn’t sure how much I would be able to talk. I am getting used to the new sound that I have. It is quite different from the pre-surgery sound! Someone actually introduced me to Suno at the beginning of March, when they read one of my poems and said that it should be a song and I came into the world of AI versus organic and got a pass from both sides because of my place within each lol ironic considering growing up by racial, I have gotten to pass my entire life from opposite sides of damn near everything. Right now musically, I’m working on getting much stronger with song structure, arrangement, bar work, hooks, transitions, and production language so I can be more intentional about the records I’m building instead of letting the tool make my lack of theory apparent in the play. I’m also trying to adjust to the under three versus 430 clock from the good old 90s! Take me back!
