Writing a Cover Letter for a Dream Job - Advice?
I found a position I’m REALLY interested in, and I want to make sure my cover letter stands out. I’m planning to spend some time today researching the company’s pain points, but I’d love some guidance on how to structure my cover letter for a role I’m super excited about. How do you approach cover letters for positions you really want? Any tips on what to include (or avoid)? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hey friends, I'm Kayla! I transitioned from teaching to government last year and now I'm looking to pivot to corporate. The 3 things I hope to gain from this group are: 1. Getting actual interviews. My job market is flooded.  2. Learn more about networking. 3. Figure out how to prioritize. I feel like I'm randomly chipping away without a plan. For fun, I enjoy: 1. I have a three-year-old I don't have many hobbies. 2. I love dogs, I have two. 3. I've recently been investing time and energy into getting healthy, it's been a journey. Here's a pic of my favorite coworker in her favorite spot under my desk. Looking forward to getting to know you all and help each other on our journeys!

Hi Regan - thanks for the opportunity! The position I'm looking for goes by a lot of names: Instructional Design, Curriculum Specialist, Learning Architect, Learning & Development Specialist. It's designing courses and learning experiences for corporate situations. Most of them have an e-learning component. Some of them have leadership components. My questions are: 1. What can I do to attract applications responses? I have yet to get an interview. To be fair, this is the newest version of my resume I've only been using for a few days. 2. What do I even include in a cover letter? I see so much conflicting advice on LinkedIn for both resumes and cover letters and it's overwhelming.

@Regan Setter 70. There's almost always a spot for a cover letter in the application, and some of them have been required. Are you suggesting that even if there is a spot it's not necessarily a good idea?
