A Note at the Gate
A small notice has been left just inside the gate. “People arrive in Dragonswood in different ways. Some speak right away. Some listen first. Some wander for a while before saying hello.” If you’re new here, this is a good place to pause. Not to perform — just to be noticed. This community stays warm when people leave small traces of themselves and respond when something feels familiar. You don’t need a full story. A few words is plenty. Take a moment to introduce yourself below, then look for someone else whose answer you recognize. Saying ‘me too’ is how paths start crossing here.

🌲- summoned by the majestic forest dragon watching over the woods 🔥 - Like a bright lantern, impossible to ignore but not pointed in your face. Noticeable when absent. 🧵 weaving stories into games, and watching the chaos unfold, lol! aka, all of the above - connected or separate. 🍂 teetering at the top of a slope, a bit terrified of the momentum to ski down.

Playful Art Journaling
I just had some fun in another creative community to art journal the 2025/2026 transition. I found it fun that I was brought to think about leaves as my intention for bringing in the new year. leaves. They are small. by themselves, they don't do much. but together - they nourish a WHOLE MASSIVE tree. And what about to a caterpillar? how important is a single leaf? It might just be what it needs to finish it's transformation into a butterfly. Not every leaf is the same. Not every leaf grows at the same time. Not every leaf falls at the same time. but - to a tree - is a leaf important? What if a tree had no leaves? What if a tree had too many leaves? Have you ever tried to count all the leaves on a tree? for some like palm trees, its easy. or at least, easier. for others like evergreens - nigh impossible. It's amazing where a simple reflection can take you ^_^

Happy Holidays!
Holidays haven't always felt steady for me. They were forced or they were forgotten. As a parent, I’ve found myself caring deeply about creating traditions that feel chosen and safe. Dragonswood is part of that. It’s a place where imagination and making can live alongside real life, without pressure to perform. Sometimes we’ll play. Sometimes we’ll just be ourselves. If you feel like sharing, I’d love to know what kinds of traditions or small rituals feel meaningful to you — especially around this season of life.

We have moved around a lot and still dont feel like the space we have is OUR home. I have come to terms that my children will likely feel a connection to this place that we are in now with some nostalgia, but my hope is to choose where we live next and make it matter. as such, we don't have a holiday decor storage yet - not really. So, our current christmas tradition is to have a new, creative idea for a christmas tree each year. One year my husband was really into chainsaw wood carving, so I had him carve us a "tree" from a log. tbh....it looked awful, lol! but it was fun to have. Our second year together we did a virtual tree in VR Paint, lol. This year we got a tiny golden one and mini golden bulbs to put on it.

@Jaymie Workman Putting up my mother-in-laws christmas tree a few years back - she uses ornaments to tell family history stories - like this was the year when XXXXXX was born and we got this ornament. This ornament was made by XXXXX in 3rd grade. etc, lol!
🌿 Today in DragonsWood…
Winter has been fussing with the lantern lights again — every flame flickers in its own mischievous rhythm. Meanwhile, at my worktable, I’m stitching through the last of the red felt (again 😆). What tiny wonder are you working on today? Even if it’s just brewing tea or opening a fresh page in your notebook, you’re welcome to share it here. The forest likes to know what its travelers are dreaming about. ✨

As we bid farewell to our esteemed guests - I am faced with sorting, planning, organizing, and prioritizing pleas for help, bids for attention, and opportunities to gain skills or coin. What will the close of the year have for me? What will the new year look like? as the frost fills the air, the fire dances bare, and dreams ride on dragon's wings.
🌟 Welcome, Katrina! First footsteps into Dragonswood…
A warm welcome to our very first brave traveler @Katrina Wright! The paths here are still forming underfoot — misty, new, and full of promise — but your arrival helps the world take shape. You’ve arrived in the middle of our building season — ladders out, paint still drying, a few sprites arguing over where the lantern hooks should go. Things may shift and shuffle as the village takes shape, but you’re here at the very best moment: the beginning. Make yourself at home. The kettle’s warm, Tabitha is already fussing with envelopes, and we’re so glad you’re here.

Thank you @Jaymie Workman ! I'll be cautious of the drying paint, and tread carefully around the ladders and shifting stones. I'm content to watch the building happen, or help out carrying boxes from one room to the next as needed. Kindly point me to a corner of the room I can observe from until an extra hand would be helpful ^_^ I'll simply be dreaming of dragons in the meantime
