ADHD in UK police
Does anyone have any experience of ADHD working in the police (UK)? Or know what meds are/aren't allowed?

1st time in the saddle in a looong time!
Rode a horse for the 1st time in 9 months (I can't walk now 🤣). My Fitbit has me as running 🤷 My average heart rate was 128!! I really didn't feel that it was that much work (my hips say otherwise)!

Encouraging family members
Hey all!! Are any of you struggling to bring your partners/family/friends on this health journey with you? What are ways you try and encourage your family/friends to either engage with you or at least support your health/fitness/nutrition journey?

I struggle to get my partner to take his health seriously. He keeps commenting on how good I look now I've lost weight but trying to get him to do the same is like pulling teeth. He gives up quite easily. I've got him to go kayaking once but he's not keen (I go paddling for hours at a time on my own). He bought himself new trainers 4 months ago & has worn them for a run 3 times. He's started home cooked meals more but they aren't the healthiest (he lives his carbs) but at least they aren't processed I guess 🤷. He also likes his homebrew beer. He has 1-2 pints a night with the occasional night off. How do I get him to make positive changes when he's not great mentally?
Takeaways…
Anyone else struggle with keeping a positive mindset when it seems like the goals take a long time to achieve? Just me…😉 well, I do. 😝 Good reminder to little things every day that add up to big things! 🔥 And to celebrate the things I am doing well and keep pushing for the big and little goals! 🙌

When I first started, it definitely felt it took an age to feel I was getting somewhere, but now my fitness has reached a certain point, I see results much quicker.

@Jd Byrne you'll get there sooner than you think. It's like everything just suddenly clicks into place 😃
Takeaways
I’m often an all or nothing person. I am quite rigid in following structure and am quite set in my ways which I think I should do things. When things don’t go to plan I tend to do nothing when I should just do something, even if it’s short of the total goal for the moment. I just read another post on here and I quote - “little things add up to big things”. I like that- it’s so true. Jake reminds me that if we need to remain adaptable and listen to our bodies. If I can’t fit in a full 1hr gym session but could do a 30min home workout instead- I absolutely should. Something is better than nothing!

I find it difficult to focus on multiple things in life. I've just started a new job (that comes with a free gym membership!) but it took all my energy to try to get used to the job & timings such as meal breaks etc that I only did 2 workouts last week (1x treadmill run & kayaking at the weekend). Try to remember that sometimes we have to prioritise some things over others & not put ourselves under too much pressure. It's ok to have a 'light' week every once in a while when life gets too hectic.
