In this session, we will: 1) Reflect on personal experiences with bias and microagressions 2) Identify the common patterns of gender bias 3) Analyze how well-intentioned comments (e.g., "protecting" a mother from a heavy workload) can create systemic barriers to women’s advancement. 4) Translate "Gut Feelings" into Objective Observations: Move from feeling that a situation is "off" to being able to name the specific bias pattern at play. Then reflect on a recent time you experienced bias or a sexist microaggression. We will use these scenarios in our session.

Hi, everyone. As discussed last week, I will be traveling on Wednesday and Thursday next week, so we will need to adjust the schedule. In addition, with the change in clocks in Europe and Australia that make time differences worse, we have some difficult decisions to make. I am listing two options below. Hi, all. Based on our discussion during the first session, I checked meeting times the week after next, and it looks like clock changes will not have happened yet, so we still can manage the same time slot as before but will shift to Wednesday as discussed. This will be: March 25: 1pm in Calgary, 3 pm US EST, 8 pm in Germany/Hungary, March 26 @5:30 am in Adelaide. Please let me know if there are any concerns with this one. I love our truly global group, but certainly the time zones are challenging :) I will put this in the calendar, where you will also be able to find the Zoom link.
