What about the use of a small electronic sensor in commercial diving
Hi everyone, I am opposed to the use of wrist‑mounted dive computers in commercial diving. However, I do wonder whether it might be worthwhile for commercial divers to wear a small electronic sensor of this type. The device cannot be read underwater, but it records and stores all dive information, which can later be downloaded to a computer. Several inshore divers here in Belgium have been using it for many years, and personally I find this kind of logging device very useful. In the event of a dispute, it can provide a great deal of valuable information about any problematic dives.

Companies i've worked latley withare using integrated ones wich we stored behind bailots on plate. I think its mandatory in Norwegian oil and gas and fishfarm sector. But it Can fail, so im still using my zoop , even for safety stops just to monitor depth for refrence. system works good with novasub systems
Job market for entry-level divers and the future of Sat diving
Hello everyone, and thank you for all the valuable information and insight provided. It is very valuable for people like me aspiring for a career in this industry and who is trying to gather as much info as possible. I do have a couple of questions regarding the market for entry-level divers, and also the future of saturation diving. So if anyone has some insight on these, I'll appreciate it. 1_ Do norwegian companies hire english speaking entry-level divers? I know some swedish myself but not to a conversational level, I've read that for newly certified divers, it is common to work in fish farming, and most of the companies I've found, they state as a requirement to know the local language. 2_ With all the development of robotics, what are your thoughts about the need for saturation divers in the next 10-20 years? Thanks again for all the info provided and wish you all a good week

As an english speaking diver in Norwegian sector. Companies will hire freelance divers for O&G projects like rig maintainance. - Techno Dive, Otech, Subseapartner. civils- Can happen , but some companies can be quite rude even replying on phone to - piss off if u dont speak local language (and its understandable prefering your own should be priority.) Fishfarms - generaly dont care what they get. Though keep in mind if u have UK passport it will complicate work permits, unless you are a resident. Feel free to shoot more questions if have any.
