How far have you traveled to see a band play?
Cheekface announced two distant 5-year anniversary shows for their 2nd album, Emphatically No. this morning. It got me thinking about maybe a trip out to catch one of them, and I thought I'd toss out a question for you all: what's the farthest you've traveled to see a show? For me, back in late 2019, I flew from Seattle down to Long Beach, CA to catch The Last doing a 40th anniversary show for their L.A. Explosion album at Alex's Bar. The Alley Cats, The Zeros, and Danny & The Doorknobs (a version of Trotsky Icepick) opened. It was an afternoon show, so I flew back after and was back home for dinner. 2nd pic is the Danny & the Doorknobs LP in my lap on the plane home that Vitus Mataré gifted me at the show for flying down to see them.

Shows that involved an airplane flight: Seattle->SF for Primus (more specifically the opening band at that show), Seattle->LA for Death Cult, Seattle->Las Vegas for U2, Seattle->Denver for Goblin at The Stanley Hotel
Free ticket to Softcult on Wednesday?
I got a pair of free tickets to Softcult w/Wayside at Madame Lou's Wednesday night 10/15. If anyone in Seattle area would like my 2nd ticket let me know. My usual suspects are all at other shows or the Ms playoff game. They are p/u at box office tickets so I just need to meet whoever wants it at the door. EDIT: This ticket has now been claimed.

@Howie Cohen nice! enjoy! I'll be at the Paramount for Garbage
Hello everyone!
after a few lighter years of seeing live shows due to a variety of reasons, I'm back into the groove this year. Some standouts in no particular order: Charlie Parr, Wet Leg, Sleigh Bells, Phantogram, Andrew Bird with the Oregon Symphony, Courtney Barnett, Sleater Kinney, Gift, Bob Mould, Sharon Van Etten, and The Flaming Lips. And very much looking forward to: Wolf Alice, Nation of Language, Purity Ring, M. Ward, The Tallest Man on Earth, Cut Copy, and Neko Case.

@Howie Cohen yes, I missed Wet Leg last time as well and was super glad to catch them this time. great show!
Greetings!
As requested, a little bit about myself and a favorite song of some sorts. I live far East Side (Snoqualmie) but try to get into Seattle for live concerts as often as I can. I think all the years of playing daily in school bands mean that I I truly need the energy of being in the same room with live music. My friends are impressed by the number of concerts that I attend (1-2 a week generally), but I truly cannot keep up with Howie. :-) Would love to meet some new concert buddies. If you saw me say "Snoqualmie" or looked at my profile photo and thought "Twin Peaks" - well, yes. I'll happily talk about the show at length. I've been a champion of Twin Peaks Day (Feb 24) for a while now and since 2018 I have written the official proclamations for places such as Snoqualmie, North Bend, Carnation, and King County. I have a lot of favorite songs. The one that keeps repeating in my head these last two weeks is "Where The I Divides" from Information Society's third album. It's more straight-forward pop with very few samples, but does (of course) include a Star Trek sound effect in the Middle Eight. Their third album, and last for a major label, is generally more restrained and less experimental than their second album. The song is about making decisions and moving on. And it's also very apropos for my work situation at the moment. But also it's just a lovely pop song that's on repeat in my head.
