Top 50 of the year
It is that time of year where we dig into the best albums of the year. Now that we know that your "wrapped" list means we wrapped up not paying artists and supporting military drones and ice recruitment (it's okay that you used it, but sadly most companies turn evil at some point) you can wrap up with songs and albums and top whatever lists! SO with that in mind, I am putting together my top 50. Here is 41-50, I hope it inspires you: 41. Soft Loft - Modern Rose 42. Ribbon Skirt - Bite Down 43.Alex G - Headlights 44.Maribou State - Hallucinating Love 45.Dead Pioneers - PO$T AMERICAN 46. Neko Case - Neon Grey Midnight Green 47.Miki Berenyi Trio - Tripla 48.Night Tapes - portals//polarities 49. Horsegirl - Phonetics On and On 50.Destroyer - Dan’s Boogie A couple highlights here: Dead Pioneers (and Jesse Welles) are one of the only artists out there protesting directly with their music. I'm sure we'll see more but it they do NOT hold back. Night Tapes and Maribou State are a VIBE, early morning morning show and honestly if Alex G or Destroyer release something it is going to be on my list. What was YOUR 41-50? Didn't get there yet, well now you can put in the work!

The Dead Pioneers set at Clock-Out was fantastic (and bonus, Itchy Kitty opening)

So, Let's Active came to streaming. And many other recent favorites. A whole lot of PNW including a dip into the silly Christmas song waters with Arthur Roberts & gang in Xmas Maximus, "12 Holiday Greats" - a 16 track album. To quote Arthur, "in our defense, not all of them are great."

Fav Band You Can't See live
What's a favorite band that you weren't able to see live? There has to be some rules on this one, so here we go: - You must have been able to see them at some point, but didn't, for whatever reason - There's no likely way for you to see them live in the future, for whatever reason For me, there was a chance I could have seen Concrete Blonde play in New Mexico, but I only found out about the concert the day before, and there was no way I would have been able to make it up to the show never mind getting tickets. Also for me, there's bands I thought I'd never see which I've now seen four or five times, and bands that felt like they were right there which I never caught.

@Jeff McMillen I know I have a notoriously faulty memory for old shows but I don't remember ever seeing them. If Jessica was there she'd have it in her notes. I can't imagine forgetting if I saw them though.

@Jeff McMillen The 1999 show was on my birthday too, I really really think I would have remembered that. 2003 doesn't ring any bells either with the description. Skye would have been just 2 years old so I very much doubt I was there either.
Free Ticket - Skating Polly, Nina Nastasia and Black Ends at Vera Thursday
Hi music pals. I have a ticket to The Vera Project show this Thursday. It's Skating Polly, Nina Nastasia and Black Ends. A killer show that I unfortunately have to miss as I will be out of town. I don't want the ticket to go to waste. If you want to go, DM me and I can transfer the Dice ticket to you. You'll need a Dice account but that's easy and free and a great app for live music events. https://www.skatingpolly.com https://ninanastasiaofficial.com https://gunkpop.com

The last Black Ends show of this year! Skating Polly is punk bunch o' fun too. Hang out with me, Black Ends superfan and charter fan club memeber, and watch me test the upper limits of the Vera Project "all ages" policy!

That "pit dad" up front at the show. 40+ years of live PNW music and still going strong. I want to tell you about this band I saw...
