Advice needed
Hi Team, I need expert advice on a serious Amazon brand issue. When I created my Amazon listing, I used a brand name . Amazon accepted and published the listing with this brand, including images, packaging, and all listing details—even though the brand was not trademarked at that time. Recently, while applying for a trademark, I discovered that another seller already owns a very similar brand name with a hyphen, which is actively selling on Amazon. Now I’m stuck between two risky options and need guidance before moving forward with production: Option 1: Continue with the brand name (without hyphen) - Use it consistently across images, title, and packaging, and apply for USPTO trademark registration. - Risk: USPTO may later reject the application due to likelihood of confusion with the hyphenated version. - If rejection happens after the listing gains reviews and sales, a forced rebrand later would be extremely damaging. Question: Based on experience, does a brand name without a hyphen realistically have a chance of USPTO approval when a hyphenated version already exists, or is rejection highly likely? Option 2: Change the brand name completely now - Choose a new, clearly distinct brand and register it. - Risk: Amazon may not allow a brand name change on the existing ASIN and could require creating a new ASIN, updating all images, and losing listing momentum and reviews I built so far - Amazon support mentioned this would require review by the Brand Registry team. Question: From real Amazon cases, does Amazon usually allow a brand name change on an existing ASIN if done correctly, or do they typically require a new ASIN? Any guidance from sellers who have dealt with similar trademark or Brand Registry situations would be greatly appreciated. 🙏 @Trevin Peterson @Kaming Lai

There is an option to change the brand name if it is not a trademarked brand name. It's not an easy process, but I believe it's worth it. Especially if you have an existing listing that is doing well with reviews and rank. I would not want to lose all that momentum. You will need to open a Brand Name change case with Amazon Seller Support and you also need images of the product with the new brand name as well on it. Amazon will likely also ask you images of the product with the UPC and FNKSU barcodes on the packaging as well with the new brand name. It might take a while to get this approved, but it is absolutely doable.
Seller Support finally responded with false allegations:(
Hey all, I’ve been having a really tough time with Seller Support — my listing has been deleted every day for almost 2 months. The Catalog team told me there are no issues and instructed me to relist, yet it keeps getting deleted every morning between 12am and 3am by their bot. Finally, I got a response claiming this is due to a hijack attempt, saying that I supposedly created the ASIN in 2020 as a different product and then recreated it in 2024 as something else. The thing is — I only activated my seller account in 2024, so how could I possibly have created the ASIN in 2020? Has anyone seen something like this or have suggestions on how to get this corrected?

Another seller may have falsely reported you saying you created this ASIN before in this market or another and reviving it for another product. It use to be way to start off with a lot of reviews, but irrelevant ones. When you created your listing/asin did you purchase GS1 barcodes? Each UPC is unique in this way where it shouldn’t repeat between ASINs and there are dates of purchase or activation that you can upload to Amazon as proof. This is how I would approach it first.
Questions
Hello Treven en Kaming , I will like to get feedback from you on these questions Rank a product: is it okay for me to use one keyword for ranking a product instead of two keywords. Also what exact impact does this make to my page/listing/product? 2.My product took a long time ( 10 months ) I found a supplier in February and now is December , the goods will arrive at Amazon in February which makes it a total of one year for completion. My question;; is this a normal situation or it only happened to me? Due to this reason new sellers has added in the market for this product and the total review on H10 is now over 1000 , do you think I will face challenges when I start selling or I will overcome ?

Most of these questions are very dependent on your product and niche and would consider booking a coaching call. I’ll try my best to answer them. For rank a product SFB campaign there’s many options to approach it. However you can choose what you can afford. There’s a lot to consider based on the keyword and niche. 10 months is honestly really too long. Finding suppliers and testing sample should really only take about 3 months. This can be done a lot faster too if you use a sourcing agent. As for reviews this is very dependent on overall sellers and how much you differentiate your product.

@Musu Amara the more differentiation is typically better if your are creating a better product/experience based on what the customer needs. There’s a lot more to break down to validating products now too, but we can discuss further when you are ready.
Product Research Questions (REVIEWS)
Hey Team - on the Winning Product Blueprint one of the criteria for a winning product is: Low Competition: more reviews = more competition (Look for lower than 250 average reviews or 10 sellers on first page having less than 250 reviews) QUESTION 1) Data Dive shows Median Reviews not the average - should we be looking for lower than 250 median reviews instead? 2) Should we be looking for the top 10 sellers having less than 250 reviews or just 10 sellers on the first page having less than 250 reviews?

Median and average are both good metrics to look at. It’s just something that helps validate your niche further. In short I would say the more reviews the more you need to differentiate to stand out. Your main competition and goal is to be on page 1 so those are the sellers you will be competing for potential customers on.
Minor changes in my product
Hi Trevin, if i make minor changes in my product to improve it based on customer feedback (e.g. better button, or fasteners, etc), do i have to do anything on my listing to reflect the changes?

Understand who you are selling to and what you customer expects is very important data leverage. Highlight these features or benefits in your images can help with conversion rates. Better conversion will benefit your listing in multifolds.
